re: PixelJunk Eden - Play & Help

I watched the preview for this in a 1Up video podcast, looks like quite a nice game, when you've got like 20mins to kill or to cool off after some other intense games.

The preview did mention a couple of things that might be annoyances, like when you are playing co-op and one of you falls the camera seems to follow the faller and the other guy goes offscreen - the camera sometimes can be a bit odd basically. But they said they got a great feeling when they played co-op and the used it eachother to reach higher points to get the seeds.

I've still not paid for a single game from the PSN yet, this might be my first purchase.

re: PixelJunk Eden - Play & Help

I played the demo a little before work this morning; seems fun but not as pick-up-and-play as Monsters as there's a bit of a learning curve to controlling your... umm... thing.

Seems fun, and even the 5 mins i had was encouraging. More tonight!

I was thinking the same, but have a question.

When you download a full title like this, does it just sit on the XMB like all the demos you've downloaded ??

I'm conscious that I'd pay a fiver for it and then have a cull of the demos I dont want any more and delete this as well. Does it have any additional 'protection' or not ???

The demo was good fun though, and it would be my first trophy-enabled title.

It will appear in your downloads list on the PSN Store. I think you can re-download titles a maximum of 5 times.

Ahhhhhh, Br0ken, you really should invest in Super Stardust and Pixel Junk Monsters. They're 2 of the games that gets the most play on my PS3, especially SSHD.

re: PixelJunk Eden - Play & Help

I not sure if there is a "protect" option, but you could check under (triangle) options - information, and see?

I've organised all my downloaded games into a folder called "Full Games" - again highlight the game, press triangle, information, and enter a name into the only field you can edit. Then go back to the XMB and press triangle and sort by "Type" and all your complete PSN games appear in a folder called "Full Games" and all the demos (which you've done nothing to) appear in a folder called "Unknown" - at least this is all from memory, and i am getting old...

I've also made a folder called "Utilities", but that just has the Eye edit software and the MGS4 database in it - again change the info name to what you want.

@ Br0ken - another vote of agreement with Spanky; SSHD and Pixeljunk Monsters are totally worth the price. I've not bought anything on LIVE Arcade (i do have free stuff like UNO) and resisted buying off the PSN, but those two titles are excellent, and has made me more open to try downloaded games. Warhawk's good if you like that sort of thing too.

Thanks, I now remember doing a similar thing with the demos I had before the HDD needed reformatting so I'll give that a go.

Can I pay with my debit card or does it have to be a credit card ??

Debit cards are fine.

Note you can only get the demo of Eden so far (US store) and cant buy it just yet. Must be coming out in the next week or two if the demo is up though?!

That would be bloomin marvelous. After initial frustration with this game, it's now become one of my most anticipated titles. I like these unique and unusual games appearing on the PS3....slick and cool but not pretentious.

Do I sound pretentious or what...

I have read and heard differing reports on that. Some place seem to be saying it's been confirmed for Japan and the US on that day and others say it's also the same day for Europe.

Joystiq say US and Japan

N4G says US, Japan and Europe

http://www.n4g.com/ps3/News-172020.aspx

Video Games Blogger says all three regions

I might have to download the demo for this - I'm intrigued as to what all the fuss is about .

Is it easy enough to purchase items from the UK PS Store, as I've never attempted it before? I might download the Poker game whilst I'm at it, as I've been meaning to do it for a while now

Neither have I but I think its just the same as when you download a demo, except the button probably says 'Buy Now', plus you'll need to firstly credit your store wallet with some funds from a credit card.
