re: (PSN) Super Stardust HD - Play & Help

You can get it from the US PS store

there are that many people playing it that when you try and submit a high score on Arcade mode the game freezes up the PS3!!!

So far score is a lowly 500k

With the exchange rate so good thats going to be cheaper than £4.99 that the UK store is going to charge, I know its only a few quid, but every penny counts

It's pretty good for the price. Better than Geometry Wars in my opinion.

re: (PSN) Super Stardust HD - Play & Help

Just been playing this, what a fabulous game. I loved Geom Wars so this was always going to be an instant hit for me, love it. Controls are easy, but such a shame they didnt put in online coop, would have really been the icing on the cake then.

Great game. Polish really shines on this one. Still struggling through the first planet but it is a blast. Favourite PSN purchase so far.

Great, great game just scored 3mil+. Reminds me of Galaxy Wars in simple gameplay but addictive, a classic blast-em-up.

A from me too.

Don't know how I've managed to get 1.6 million score when I haven't even unlocked the second planet yet (not past phase 4 of first yet).

Don't think I'll be getting near the current high score of 51 million any time soon

re: (PSN) Super Stardust HD - Play & Help

Must admit I was really looking forward to this (being a Robotron, Mutant Storm and GeoWars nut!) but on my first go it didn't really grab me. The screen just looked a bit messy and it didn't feel right. I found it really annoying the way the screen scrolled around and you couldn't see what's coming at you.

But then I went into the options and set the camera to 'far' so the whole playfield is on screen, turned off the annoying music and all is good with the world and I'm loving it!!

Only had 4 or 5 goes but I've unlocked the second planet and managed just over 5 million so far....

The stage that I used to like on the original Amiga version of Stardust was the '3-d tunnel' section that took place at the end of level.
Is there anything similar on this version?

re: (PSN) Super Stardust HD - Play & Help

Excellent game. very addictive. Better than geo wars which was a great game too. I've been playing all weekend (despite buying the darkness fro 360). Managed to reach the top 500 with a score of 15mil but by this lunch time i'd dropped to 1000 or so. the top scores are around 150 mil!! Ah well i still havent unlocked the last planet yet so more practice needed.

BTW what weapons are you guys upgrading first? I find the gold melter the most useful to start upgrading in preperation for the second planet, by then with max gold power i start the ice splitter power ups in prep for the third planet. I have tried single weapon runs (using just one type of shot) but havent got that far.

re: (PSN) Super Stardust HD - Play & Help

I usually get Rock Crusher up to about 50%-60% then start building up the Gold Melter. TBH the second planet is a fairly easy start at 50% gold melter. Once Gold is 100% then I switch to Ice. Usually I don't get much further than that as I lose concentration and end up losing my 6 lives in about 30 secs!!!

Does anyone use boost much, I haven't really experimented much with it, to busy to worry about bombs let alone boosting. From what I have seen it seems to ignore the rocks?
