Critter Crunch - Play & Help Thread.

No thread for this game!?!? For shame!

Well tried the demo that hit PSN yesterday and it ticks all the boxes to make a great PSN game.

Simple clean crisp graphics
Addictive gameplay
Short games
both online and offline mechanics
Cheap! (under £5)

Urge everyone to at least try it out, it's mental! especially when you throw up a rainbow into the young creatures mouth - yep, you read that right.

Does this game have local multiplayer/splitscreen?

I tried the demo and I enjoyed, reminds of of the magical drop type games.

Downloaded this yesterday and it's just so addictive. Sure it looks a bit childish but that only adds to its charm especially as the graphics are really clean and crisp (1080p too). Trust me, i'm sitting here at work thinking about how i can't wait to get home and play it. Brilliant little game

Maybe it was because it was late and I was tired, but I played a bit of the demo last night and it didn't really click with me. For me there was too much to take on board. The great thing about games like Bust-A-Moe or Tetris was that they were easily accessible, yet rewarded more skilled gamers; this might have the same kind of depth as those classics but it definitely didn't connect with me first time like a good puzzle game should.

There was quite a bit to take on board in the demo, in the full game your eased into it a bit more.

Theres so much game for the price tag, I think the puzzles are great where you have to clear the board in a certain number of moves rather than in a certain time limit. And the online co-op component works really well and gets quiet hectic, little power ups also make it fun (one that switch boards between players and stuff.)

I'm not a big puzzle gamer so I don't know if this is common place but I also like how stuff drops once it's popped and certain things you have to avoid landing on you, whilst other things you need to grab before the disappear. I'm about 20 or 30 levels in and there still adding new gameplay elements.

Thing I like most about it is this game knows what it is, so many PSN games try and emulate their full retail counterparts and fail - this is a simple pick up and play puzzle game.

They also got it spot on with the price, it makes other games laughable with the amount they want you to spend.

Bought this for the missus yesterday after she tried the demo. She likes it and it seems to be good value for £4.49. Should keep her amused for a bit and give her break from bleeding Zuma.

It's a brilliant game - and totally satisfying when you pop the hell out of the critters. On top of the crisp graphics and addictive game play already mentioned, there's also really clever puzzles modes that's extremely satisfying and the offline multi-player is just one of the best in PS3, IMHO. in Offline multiplayer versus mode, you can look out for certain combos and jewels that will treat your opponent with a lightning bolt etc. Co-op mode is really hard and need a lot of frantic co-ordinated action between the players to keep popping the critters.

Great game - would sell well even if they priced it at £20!
