Can I use my PS2 GHWT controllers on PS3?

Hi

Been offered a PS3 (either preowned 60GB or new) for my 40th from my wife. I currently have a PS2 and have all the guitar hero games and just got World Tour at Christmas.

I hope someone who has upgraded from PS2 to PS3 can answer this from experience. I've searched the forums but I haven't found a definite "Yes I have and here's how answer yet".

Can I use the PS2 guitar and/or drum controller on the PS3? If I can't get my hands on a 60GB PS3, will the PS3 version of GHWT be able to use them?

I have heard about PS2 to PS3 USB adapters - anyone got a link to one which definitely works with the guitar controllers? What about the drum controller?

ok none of the old GH games will work on the PS3 as no PS2-Ps3 adapters work with the guitar controllers,

As for world tour i'm not sure how the setup is for the drums on the PS2 to comment.

Hmmm - that's not what I wanted to hear. There might be hope for the drums as the set up guide had PS2 and PS3 instructions.
Guess I'll just have to try it when I get it.

The game won't work, the controllers will, as they're all USB

I believe the PS2 and PS3 ones are identical

I was playing GH legends (PS2 version) - on my PS3 earlier (with a PS2/USB convertor) with no problem earlier.

I could not however get my GHWT wireless guitar to sync with GH legends unfortunately

I was trying to get my gh2 guitar to work on my 60gig ps3 when playing ps3 world tour. It connected and I could select and go back, but could not scroll up and down the menus. Any suggestions?

I think it depends on the USB adapter used. I've only tried my GH2 guitar with the PS3 version of Guitar Hero 3 but it works fine (so long as you have the specific USB adapter I linked to).
