Hi,
I've had a Sony Playstation 3 and Sony KDL-40W2000 LCD TV now for over a year connected via HDMI. (only really use it as a blu-ray player - wow!!)

The only way I can get to 2 to talk/see each other is to first switch both on, then switch the PS3 off then switch it (the PS3) back on before they will then work properly. Everything works fine after that little hoop jumping excercise . . . . . .

Anybody any clever ideas why this might be? I've the latest PS3 updates installed.

Have you tried switching the TV on, then switching to the HDMI mode/extension on the TV and then turning the PS3 on?

How do you access the HDM't I mode/extension? Can't find this in the menus!!

I think he means switch the tv on, then switch it to the channel for the ps3. Then switch the ps3 on.

What do you mean exactly by "getting them to talk to each other"? You do know that ps3 doesn't support hdmi control / bravia theatre sync?
