Racing wheel for under £50

Can anyone point me towards a decent £50 racing wheel for the PS3? I am really starting to enjoy GT5 and loving the Grid demo (Will Buy) but feel that a wheel would make them better. This will be the first one I have bought so I want to keep it on the cheap (Just in-case I don't like it).

Re: Racing wheel for under £50

Well if you can stretch aother £30 I would definatley get the new GT wheel from game at £80, they have it on offer atm with a big saving and the only other wheel that beats it is the G25 but thats like £150.

Just about the best you'll get for under £100.

Things like this I wouldn't really recommend especially for GT,

Spending the extra £30 to get the GT wheel will be a wise move because most other wheels pail in comparison, plus you will be using it for a good few years.
Buying a cheap one will not be of benefit over a pad imo and trust me using that wheel with GT you will NEVER use a pad again for a driving game.

Re: Racing wheel for under £50

Thanks for the reply, but, like I said I'd rather get something cheaper just in case. Is the Driving Force EX any good?

Re: Racing wheel for under £50

Out of the logitech wheels they are listed in order of quality.

I've had a few wheels and some of the cheaper one's tend to feel like your just holding a piece of plastic that goes from left to right instead of actually using a wheel, obviously the more you spend the better quality wheel you get.
If you just want a cheap one then go with the one you say, but for £30 extra it's a bargain that is hard to pass up especially for a quality product like that, imo.

Not sure, but there are plenty of views online with videos and in the GT thread and everybody seams to rate it very highly.

I use the G25 with GT and I thought it was daft and a waste spending money on wheels going buy my past experiences with cheap wheels, but boy I was wrong you wont believe the difference it really is night and day.

I could never pay a serious racing game with a pad again.
A 11" wheel makes a diferance as well.

This is a review of the GT, there are plenty of others on youtube.

Re: Racing wheel for under £50

I've got Burnout, Grid, GT5P but wouldn't consider myself a hardcore racer. Don't even have a provisional licence. £80 feels like an appropriate introduction price and that first enthusiastic review has me interested.

If I enjoy the experience the Porsche 911 Fanatec wheel goes into production soon I understand and would rather upgrade from a Logitech GT5 than the now dated looking G25.

It might be dated but it's still the best The other manufactures tend to have problems with certain games GT5p included.

A new G25 will be out this year I bet judging by how much the competition is bringing out new stuff.

Re: Racing wheel for under £50

Are these wheels limited to certain games? or do they work with all? It's just i fancy one of these but would like it to work with motorstorm 1&2 and Wipeout.

Cheers

There more for "proper" racing games like Burnout, NFS, GT5, Sega rally and won't work with Wipeout and Motorstorm.

Basically your general car racing games, Games that work well from what I have tried are,

Sega Rally
Ridge racer
GT5p
Dirt
Grid, to a extent
F1:CE
NFS
FC
Burnout plus a few others.

If you don't want to spend loads the best pound for pound wheel for value and quality is the latest GT5 wheel especially at £80.
