Sold PS3 - Advice needed

Obviously i dont want the buyer using any of my details so how do i go about getting them off my system?

Also what else do i need to do?

Do i leave the downloaded games on there?(i'll be getting a PS3 asap and will re download them onto new system)

Just what else do i do to keep me safe?

Also what's the best way to send it?(royal mail Special delivery?)

Re: Sold PS3 - Advice needed

either keep you hard drive from the ps3, where you sign in that black screen you can untick a box which says remember me. sadly if you have told them that they will be getting games that you have brought off psn store then you can not delete your use account cause all those d/loaded games will be deleted., if you told the buyer that they wont be getting psn games then just do a system restore.

to send it either send it royal mail or get a some one like DHL it will cost about a £10

When I sold my old 60gb version I deleted my accounts then performed a hard drive format.
I sent mine with royal mail special delivery as well.
Also, I took pics of it before I sent it with a copy of the days newspaper. In the past I have sold items which suddenly have had a lot of damage on them but the package has been fine, strange that. In other words they had a change of mind and didnt want it.

Re: Sold PS3 - Advice needed

Just delete everything, create a new user called new or something and log in then highlight your normal user and delete it.

Then just delete all saves and game data plus what ever you want and thats it.

When you get your new PS3 just create new user "me" or what ever and then sign up for a PSN account and click on use existing, then just add your email and password and then all your PSN details will return including your friends list.

Why the new PS3 anyway? could you have not upgraded the HDD or was the machine playing up.

Well i sold the 60GB for £339.99 and got a 160GB just 5mins ago for £307 with 4 downloadable games, FIFA 09, LBP and Smackdown 09. Was a no brainer really.

So after deleting my DelBoySmiffy account that means they have none of my details right? Dont want millions going out of my bank account

Re: Sold PS3 - Advice needed

One other thing, make sure you do the following:

PLAYSTATION 3 remembers the display settings you give it. If you are moving your PS3 between an SD and an HD TV, you may find you have a blank screen. Simply reset your PLAYSTATION 3 to restore the default SD setting in the following way: turn off the PLAYSTATION 3 system then press and hold the power button for approximately 5 seconds until you hear a beep. You can then use the Settings category in the XMB to configure your Display settings manually.

I didnt and had emails saying it was broken when it wasn't.

Once your account is deleted it has gone from the machine. Do that and a format, reset display and you are good to go.
Your millions are safe.
