Is it possible
Moved my PS3 downstairs to Tv there which can only take max of 1080i
It was though set up to 1080p via HDMI

Is there anyway (holding down buttons on controller etc) to reset it back to most basic settings ?

When you turn it on (via the PS3, not the controller), continue holding down the power button until you hear another beep. This should automatically change the resolution.

Hold down the power button on the PS3 it should beep 3 times and reset to default settings
