Hi,i just got a ps3 and want to somehow connect all 3 thing to one optical input.I bought a cheapish 3 way splitter but didn't work.Each system worked plugged straight to the optical input but as soon as the splitter was used-nothing! I take it the signal was being split so too weak? I'm now wondering would a 3 way 'switch' work better than the splitter? Thanks in advance for any help,don't want to waste any more money!

A 3 into 1 optical switch is the right tool for the job mate.

A splitter is for one source to more than one output. A switch is for more than one source to one input.

Thanks,makes sense! Only small thing is a friend of mine says that the signal was still too weak to work through a switch he bought? Does that sound right? Maybe i need a high quality switch rather than the ebay job he no doubt bought? Thanks again!

This will do fine and it's £13 quid.

Used one for ages before upgrading amp.
