Halo coming to PS3?

bungie have quit M$ according to a mag in GAME in a interview they said they where independent now and are not ruling out Halo for the PS3.

what does every1 think if its true maybe a halo wars pure online game in a year or so for ps3?

I think Halo in general is soooo over hyped, not interested in playing on my PS tbh.

Agreed, I played and finished Halo 3 (others as well) and it was good but not a 9 or 10 about an 7.5 - 8 at a push for me.

I'm pretty sure MS own the franchise and not Bungie, hence talk of who will make the next Halo.

Six weeks ago just called. They want their news back.

Given that Halo is a Microsoft IP, I find it impossible to believe that someone from Bungie would say that.

In short, there is no chance of that ever happening. Bungie are, of course, now free to develop games for other platforms though.

MS own the rights to the Halo franchise as well as have first right of refusal to all of Bungie's games for the forseable future. Halo games on the PS3 are absolutely never going to happen.

Yea, but they could make somthing like Halo same type of game play different name.

Yes, its called Marathon and was one game of a series, when Halo was in development for the Mac thats what it was called and it was 3rd person, then MS bought bungie and changed it to what we know is called Halo.

I had the first couple of Marathons on the Mac, pretty and atmospheric for the time, a wee bit slow on my old 66Mhz Motorola 601 PPC based Mac with no 3d graphics card though. Even if Halo3 did come out on the PS3, I'd rather play CoD4, its much better IMO. Nice to see a talented developer like Bungie go independent and multiformat again though.

If we were on PS2 still, I'd be excited about seeing Halo games on it, but with this new gen of consoles, its almost like FPS overload now!

It is worth noting MS is still a shareholder of Bungie, though they are now a minority shareholder.

HALO is an excellent game series and HALO3 is a fantastic game. Just because it won't be on the PS3 is no reason to diss it.

Since we all know the Halo franchise is never going to come to any format except an MS one or the PC there really is no sense in discussing this any further. I think this thread has run it's course. Closing thread.
