I was just about to post the Komplett price of £409.99 but that's without delivery.

Didn't expect it to drop under £400 so soon. Still can't afford one though. I'm going to wait until it's under £350 or there a alot more decent games available.

I'm desperately trying to hold off on getting one until I get my masters dissertation written, but that's just made it all the more tempting... 4 years (part time) - I don't want to blow the course because I was too busy playing Motorstorm!

Still, I should be finished by Thursday... maybe by then the price will have hit the £350 mark!

For me, the £399 pricemark seems about right. I don't know why sony went 425 in the UK, since the 400 barrier is quite a big psychological one to get past.

I guess they thought they'd make as much cash from the early adopters as they could to minimise their loss, then go for the mainstream at 399 or lower.

The price drops we're seeing online is just from people cutting into their own margins, or simply trying to move stock. If the price drop comes from up top - not likely so soon - then that would be significant. Owing to the European and particularly UK premium these things are selling for Sony can afford a price drop surely?

surely its better for sony to sell the console even at a loss just to get the console in as many homes as possible and get the money back from software sales, the more consoles out there, the more games they'll sell, which means more money for them and more money for the developers which would hopefully mean more exclusive games for the ps3, but at the moment sony have priced themselves out, which means more and more games turning up on the 360 as well as the ps3

Shouldn't that be more games ported over to the PS3 from the 360 like much of the launch lineup? Is it just me or am I missing something in people paying £145 more than a 360 premium to play the same game (minus the rumble in the pad!) that they could have played six months ago?

No you'll have to wait a couple of months for the 5% to come back to you via Quidco, either through Paypal or your bank account. They have to track the affiliation for you and wait for DVD.co.uk to send them payment. I can vouch for it genuinely working though - I've tracked tons of orders through Quidco, including for DVD.co.uk, and I've received payment just fine

OK. This is using a formula by another member in another post.

Join Quidco, it's free. then visit Great universal through the quidco site (it's under general shopping on the first page)

You will get The PS3 and the game for £519, However as a first time customer you get a 20% discount making the price £415.20 (This discount WILL show on your invoice)

The site then offer you cash back of 10% on anything over the first £150, so they will give you £26.52 cash back paid by cheque or into your paypal account, which will make it £388.68

Then If you've done this through Quidco, you will in a month or two recieve another 6% cashback, which will be £24.91

MAking a grand total of £363.77

I know it sounds complicated, but it isn't really.

There are other packages on offer, but this is the cheapest. For example you can have call of duty 3 instead as your game, but it will be about £8 more.
