PS3 - Some questions...

1. Is there an online guide anywhere telling you exactly how to use the PS3 Controller during DVD playback...? I haven't seen anything anywhere about this... I know how to use my PS2 controller for PS2 DVD playback, but noticed things have changed slightly... I've worked out most of the controls, but still was surprised that there is nothing in the online guide about this(?)

2. I thought the Hard Drive was meant to be 60GB... LOL - Have you checked your system info? Mine appears to be missing several crucial gigs of HD... How can they claim this to be 60GB?

3. Does the controller automatically shut down when the console is switched off, or do you have to shut it down seperately? I am trying to keep the battery drain on the controller to a minimum when not in use... Any tips/shortcuts for doing that?

Re: PS3 - Some questions...

Most people don't need a guide since you can simply press the button and see what it does, go on - throw caution to the wind and give it a try.

The actual disc is 60gb, but some space is reserved for secret Sony plans to infiltrate every home with hoardes of brown.

The controller automatically shuts down. You can see this because the light goes off.

Re: PS3 - Some questions...

Have you tried the heading Online Manuals (or similar) on the XB whatever-it's-called (the main menu)?

Listen funny man. Do you charge by the hour for your helpful advice???

I actually tried pressing all the buttons last night, but found some of the playback features didn't appear by doing that. I got a menu appear once which I couldn't make appear again by pressing the buttons - hence my question... Also - I have better things to do with my time than learn how to use the entire machine using trial and error - It's a simple thing which I would expect to have been covered somewhere in the online guide. Most of the manual and online guide is full of stuff I don't need...

Re: PS3 - Some questions...

triangle brings up the menu when playing a DVD. R2 and L2 do the winding back and forth, R1 and L1 skip chapters.

Re: PS3 - Some questions...

Fair enough, I hadn't tried them myself, just wondered if they'd be helpful! Guess not
