NWhiteley,

Yes indeed it does I have a PS3 connected to a Yamaha rx-v2600 via HDMI then HDMI-DVI to a TV and the Audio comes through the AMP just perfectly :-)

Re: Audio output on the PS3

Isn't it weird tho that it won't output audio via HDMI and optical at the same time?

Why is that?

Re: Audio output on the PS3

^ why would you want to? it's weird that you'd want you ps3 outputting 7.1 LPM to one receiver alongside 5.1 Dolby to another one

I want to cos I've got the PS3 connected to my TV with HDMI and to my Receiver / Amp by optical. If I just want a quick game with 'no frills' then I would just like to turn on the TV, play for a while with sound out of the TV speakers and then quit. Then when I want the full experience or to play a BD I want to fire up the amp and have the complete sound. I can't do that cos I have to faff about with the setup to move the sound from optical to HDMI and then back again. Just seems weird to me to make these outputs exclusive.
