Do I have to quit a game to read messages ?

or am I missing something ..was playing motostorm last night online and someone sent me a message ..only way I could see to read it was to quit the game

you'd hope so ... gotta say other than some very good games there's not a lot of "depth" to this console.

Its been out 4 months now if you include US and Jap so no excuses for not sorting basic stuff out

It concerns me that 1.6 didn't deal with this crucial, and very basic, issue. How long til the next one...?
