Just curios about a small screen problem

When playing RR7 (about 11% into game now), the screen sometimes goes completely black for about 1 or 2 secs but the sound stays on. It hasn't done this with RFOM or any of the demos I have or even the one BD I have. So I guess it's a fault with RR7.

I have checked the usual and the machine sits flat but on its own. Sound is through optical into a Sony amp and video is through HDMI into Sony Bravia and set at 1080i (default).

It only happens perhaps once in the game but not sure if it's down to a single track or something else.

Anyone else had this kind of problem with RR7 (or other)?

Cheers for any replies.

Re: Just curios about a small screen problem

While playing Resistance FOM co-operative with a friend yesterday all of a sudden the screen would go blank for a second then come back on. This would happen constantly until i restarted. My Sony 40x would display 720p each time as if its trying to change resolution or similar.

I am running it through a Thor HDMi switcher, hasn't happened since or anywhere else. Not sure if it is something similar to what you are experiencing?

I have also posted on a previous thread regarding this with Steve-L who seems tobe getting the same thing.

Anone else getting this sort of thing?

Re: Just curios about a small screen problem

Is it a PS3, cable (HDMI) or TV problem or a combination?

Only time will tell - not too worried at the moment because it's very infrequent.

Re: Just curios about a small screen problem

I read about it somewhere its the copy protection built into HDMI loosing sync, I've had it happen once playing tekken. If it happens continuously then just unplug the hdmi and wait a sec or so then plug back in (its supposed to get the handshaking going again).
