Strange HDMI Problem on new Slim

Just bought a Slim PS3 having sold my 60gb US machines earlier in the year.

I plugged in the PS3 to my existing setup using the still connected HDMI lead that was plugged into my onkyo 905 amp. I used the same button on my pronto for the PS3 which switches my amp over to the correct HDMI output and whilst I first had to use the supplied lead to turn on the HDMI output in the XMB, all works as it did on my last PS3.

Strange thing is, when I turn on my PS3, my Samsung TV turns itself on??? Even with the amp off??? It also turns it to HDMI-2 which isn't used, I only use HDMI-1. I even think then when I turn the PS3 off.....it turns the TV off???

Very annoying. My amp is only plugged into HDMI-1 and the PS3 is only connected to my AMP.

Any ideas?

Turning off HDMI control in the settings menu will sort that out. I've managed to set mine so that when I select HDM2 on my TV, it turns on the PS3 and selects the correct input on my onkyo amp.

My onkyo amp was switching my tv off on it's own when I changed to ps3 using my harmony.

It was the hdmi power settings on the amp I changed in the end to cure it.

Out of interest, vwchris

Cable setup is HDMI cable from PS3 into the amp, then HDMI from the amp into HDMI2 on my tv.

Viera Link turned on on my tv, HDMI Contol enabled on the slim, and HDMI control & power turned on on the amp. It then 'just does it'. Pressing the PS button on the controller also turns everything related to the PS3 on. My TV remote also controls the XMB which is handy.
