Replacing PS3 blu ray drive?! Need to be same model?

Hi guys,just a quick question.

If i was going to replace the whole blu ray drive on my ps3 would i be able to use any ps3 blu ray drive (excluding slim of course) or does it have to be the same type as the original one? I have an orginal 60gb system by the way.

I know some drives uses single and double lenses but does this matter if im replacing the whole drive?

needs to be the same i'm sure as some drives have different/extra ribbons. I've opened a few up and i'm pretty sure you need the same one.
