No, I appreciate that. I was really only addressing your concerns about noise on the slim and like I say, unless you're one of the very few unlucky ones with a faulty machine don't believe the hype.

got my new slim traded in my 60gb launch console @ gamestation they price matched cex @188 for my ps3 all i had to do was pay the extra £62 to get a new slim and batman and they even gave me a blue ray remote £12.99 sorted

Traded in my xbox elite and a few games and paid a £100 towards ps3 slim with Killzone 2.
Great machine,very quiet,good looking and built in wireless connection.

Never went on line with xbox but i wanted to with PS.
I just purchased a netgear router and i am just exploring the basics on line.Very impressed.

One problem which i am going to search this sight for is i downloaded Batman(free demo) and can not load it to play.It seems to have disappeared from system although there is a history of it in my downloaded content.

If you can't see it under the Game section of the XMB then I suppose it's possible it hasn't finished downloading - check Download Management in the XMB.

Well, I'm on my second Slim now. Both have been very noisy, so my guess is that this is a common problem. (At least for some production batches). I'm returning the second one today and will try one more unit before giving up on the PS3 for now.

I am on my second ps3 slim now and both are pretty noisy compared to my old phat.

I will keep this second slim for a week and see whether I am prepared to put up with it

I certainly will be buying a New Slim PS3. Have not bought one sooner as I pernally thought they were to £££.

I have seen two good deals. My local HMV are selling a slim with the new Batman game for £250. The other is gameplay a slim with the new Need for Speed Shift game for £250.

I want to get one before Xmas as they are most likely to sell out everywhere

Im happy with my phat model, i prefer it to the new one to be honest. Im just upgrading my hard drive on my current one, im remaining loyal lol. If this were to be my frst ps3 then id buy it though.

My 60GB PS3 died, sold it for like £110 on eBay and bought an xbox.

Just sold the xbox and bought a PS3 Slim

Couldn't be happier! Runs soooooooooo much quieter than my old 60GB did, and looks a lot nicer.

The buttons lighting up via white LED's finish it off nicely. And you can actualy touch it without leaving 400 finger prints on it!

Got PS3 40GB free nearly 2 years ago. It's always been noisy(Full fan after 15min)

Couple of Weeks ago got YLOD
Fixed myself with heatgun - Fan now at full belt after 2min of gaming
Took it to CEX today along with nokia N95

40GB boxed PS3 = £142 store credit
Nokia N95 = £101 store credit
add £2

and walked out with a mint 120GB Slim with 12 months warrenty

Quiet as a mouse.
