little or no voices on ps3 dvd playback

Wondered if anyone could help ?
I play my ps3 through my Onkyo606 and kef speakers, and TV wise, the setup works perfectly with 5.1 sound for sky etc.
But when i play movies from any dvd in my ps3, 95% of the time, im not getting a vocaltrack - very weird.
The rest of the sounds are there ie birds twittering in trees and background music etc, but in most scenes, there is no voices coming from the characters mouths (or if they're audible, they're very low volume)
Also the rear 2 speakers are completely quiet
Its got stumped...though thats not too hard
Any help would be gratefully received.

Try turning off all the 7.1 PCM options in PS3 audio settings.

That didnt work unfortunately - but i appreciate your help and advice.
Eventually found the problem - would have bet the problem was ps3 based, but the 'listening mode' button on my amp (specifically the movie/tv button which cycles through audio settings), seems to have been pressed by someone.
Once i put it back on 'vcr all channel'......the actors voices came back

I had the exact same issue the other day when playing a bluray on my PS3 through my HT-IS100. Restarted the amp and all back to normal. odd.
