Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 - Play And Help Thread

Since a few of us are getting our hands on the copy tomorrow ahead the release date, it may be worth having a thread early.

re: Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 - Play And Help Thread

Thank god, Arsenal actually plays and feels as Arsenal on a team and individual level.

More edit.
My first match feels real. I feel like Arsene and like am all the players too. . . That is the best way I can explain it. I like this one as it needs me to think fast on my feet. Despite all the flaws reported, the games does shine and plays well.

Oh I would advice people to play on top player like I did. . . It is just so much fun and more real. I also earned my first glory trophy by beating Chelsea 1-0 using Arsenal. Feels good.

Feel totally the same mate, nothing like the demo imo.

I just love the fact that PES is back with a big bang, about bloody time too.

May have something to do with the game not officially released yet and the servers not being live.

re: Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 - Play And Help Thread

Servers for the full game go live on Friday.

The online demo is pretty solid. I had some major button lag issues in the first game or 2 I played, but after that it was absolutely brilliant.

Anyway, my copy came today. I just can't believe a) how different from the demo it feels, and b) why it's been getting poor reviews. This is, hands down, the best football game I've ever EVER played. For the past 3 PES launches, I've played for an hour, put it down then come back later on... It's been about 4 hours or more since I got this and I've only just put it down. My *ONLY* criticism is the gulf between difficulty levels. I used to play on Top Player in PES2009, and Superstar on the WE2010 demo, but Top Player in the full game is absolutely rock solid. Dropped it down to Professional and was winning games 3-0 or more each time (which made the "score 5 hattricks" trophy drop dead quickly!)

Can't wait for a decent Option File/Edit Data to hit the net and then I'll be nuts deep in Master League for ages... At least til MW2 comes out, anyway

re: Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 - Play And Help Thread

Great to see copys going live!

Can someone describe the differences between the demo and the full game?

What's the fluidity like?

Is there less lag between waiting for / receiving the ball and being able to pass / move than the demo?

Would love to know if you can play 2 vs 2 online also and has anyone tried my favourite which is 3 or 4 players on one side against the computer?

I think I might have to break my golden rule of game buying and just get it from a shop

Sorry for all the questions but if someone can take time out and post a little mini review it'd be muchos apreciated

It just feels better... It's hard to describe it, but the graphics are sharper, the players feel more alive, the game reacts slightly differently to how you play, and it's harder. A lot harder.

Loads less. If you've played the Winning Eleven demo, it's much more like that, but with slightly sharper times still. Fluidity wise, it's still PES... Some of the animations are a little bit clunky, but it flows better than PES09 ever did...

2v2 online is in. You can play 3 different online people, or you can have one player + guest vs 2 others, ideal if you've got a mate over! I believe you can do up to 7 players vs computer as has been the case with all the next gen PES's... Not tried that yet though, so can't confirm it. There's definitely the option to move your controller cursor to either side though, so looks promising

It's well worth it this year. I felt PES2009 was a step in the right direction (ie: away from 2008), but this year's is absolutely top drawer. I'm gonna be playing this for a LONG time. A review, in short: It's ****ing brilliant.

Asda are apparently doing the £25 price point for PES as well, so you may as well spend an extra £15 and keep both, especially if you're liking FIFA

re: Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 - Play And Help Thread

Thanks for reviews so far, sounds great, can't wait for the game

Question: in previos PES' (ie 08 & 09) it was really dark when a match was played in rain, has this been fixed?

Also what about replays, is it still choppy (as it was in 08 & 09) when you use slow mo (analogue)?

and the biggest questions of them all: as I am a massive fan of Master Leauge (not interested in online aspect at all), how is it? Any improvements (except added Champions League name and Europe League name)?

Thank you

re: Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 - Play And Help Thread

Replays are much improved, that was one of my major concerns. Not installed to HDD yet but I imagine that will only help it more

Not tried a rain match yet, but the lighting in this game is nothing short of breathtaking. It looks amazing, miles better than FIFA!

Master League... I've not started yet (Waiting for an option file), but from what I've read/heard, it's incredibly deep and detailed this year. Finally using real currencies, Champs League and Europa League put in, it looks like it's going to be a good year

Game arrived this morning via shopto free postage. Having played 2 games I have to say that I am impressed, this is no where near the demo. In general it feels much better, not as clunky as the demo a lot more fluid although not on par with fifa but very good if your a pro fan. Btw you are talking to a fifa convert here as I purchased fifa for the first time in over 11 years.

The game plays very well, although I couldn't get online. Fifa's close control and feel is very slick, but Pro evo's general play still does very well. My only problem with fifa is the carpet style mechnisms of the pitch and the way the ball moves. Pro evo certainly is better in this aspect, however the standard konami mistakes such as players like sniejder being at madrid is still apparant.

I am going to keep both as I genuinely like both for what they are, going to play my brother later to see how multiplayer gets on. Atm online on fifa is a pain the backside, nevertheless am happy thus far with the general gameplay but manager mode is quite poor. I will try Master league later and keep you guys updated but I have to say I am very happy.

Seriously guys it is much better than Pro evo although I have still only played 2 games. Keepers are stronger too. I played both fifa and pro evo back to back and I will be keeping both, PES is back in a good way but Konami we still expect better.
