Leaked prices for the future DLC's

Whilst PSN was quite late in releasing the legendary cars DLC for purchase, over on xbox the marketplace screwed up and listed the pricing details for the other DLC's too

Exert from ps3fanboy article :

While the Burnout Store doesn't currently reveal pricing for these vehicles, an accidental release on Xbox Live Marketplace did (the content has since been removed). The Toy Car Pack was apparently offered this morning as a single download for 1,000 ($12.50). Each toy car was also available individually for 160 ($2), with the exception of the motorcycle, the Toy Nakamura Firehawk, offered for 240 ($3) -- the cars, minus the motorcycle, where also combined and offered in two separate packs for 480 ($6) each. The Boost Specials Pack was available as a single download for 400 ($5), or both cars could be purchased individually for 240 ($3). Obviously, the final pricing is subject to change.

Those that can be bothered could probably work out the expected PS3 pricing, based on the current DLC prices etc.

Re: Leaked prices for the future DLC's

Still no news of Big Surf Island?
Hopefully that won't cost too much, that's really the only DLC I want.
I'd pay £10 for it at the most.

Re: Leaked prices for the future DLC's

Extrapolating from the legendary cars pricing (and using the leaked xbox prices), the PS3 DLC should be close to these prices:
- Toy Pack (all 9 cars) £9.85
- Each Toy Car £1.59
- Toy Bike £2.11
- Boost Pack (2 cars) £3.99
- Single Boost Car £2.11

Some videos of the Toy Cars in action:
YouTube - [VGTV] Burnout Paradise - Toy GT Concept Road Rage

and in the junkyard:
YouTube - Toy Cars

I wonder if the slip up means that they might release the new cars faster (after all there are some xbox users out there that managed to buy the packs before they got pulled).

Going by the current pricing I would expect the island to cost about £14.99 (rumoured to be a big map with lots of new roads to rule and billboards jumps etc to complete).

Actually, I suppose that's not too bad considering how big it is from what they say, and also the amount of work they're putting into developing it

Cops and Robbers also sounds interesting - police could be a big development.

Re: Leaked prices for the future DLC's

I do think the prices are a bit OTT but I guess they're making up for the free DLC from last year - imagine how much the bikes pack would have been considering you got 4 bikes, 40 events and a day/night cycle.

High prices but I think the Toy cars look like being a lot of fun, if they'd just been regular vehicles o-one would bother, they need stuff like this and the legendary cars to keep the excitement up.

The boost specials don't seem that interesting and I'll probably only get them for the related trophies...

Still trying to see the point of the toy cars! I take it that you can't mix it in with the normal cars, so it's same thing as normal cars just different textures

I think you can - there's trophies for completing offline events with some of them.

So what is the actual difference between normal cars and the toy cars, or is it just the look of them?

Re: Leaked prices for the future DLC's

Although I want to buy all the extra cars, I was wondering if you the burnout team would do a "Value pack" where you can buy all the car packs for one reduced price?

Or is that wishful thinking?

I really don't want to buy these (I have so far resisted the legendary car pack) but my trophy score of 90% is bugging me.

Re: Leaked prices for the future DLC's

Maybe once they've released the remaining 4 they'll release Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Ultimate Box
Seriously though, a pack that contained all of the DLCs (even though half are useless) would be good for us trophy addicts.
Realistically, I think the only good ones will be Big Surf Island, and Cops and Robbers.
The Party Pack was a waste of time in most people's eyes (although I haven't tried it), the Toy Cars look fun but a bit gimmicky, the Legendary Cars are also gimmicky, but the Boost Specials might be alright.

The party pack is brilliant. I have spent loads of time playing it the last two weeks when I have had mates over. A few of us are burnout vetrans but it is easy enough for non burnout players to pick up. I've easyily had my moneys worth.

In that case, I'm totally confused. I guess I'll have to just try it out myself sometime.

First I've heard of this....I assume it's a Chase HQ style game where you have to ram the criminal off the road?

Would be good if they introduced police into the normal game to, NFS Most Wanted was brilliant with police chases etc

Didn't Burnout 2 feature Cops n Robbers or was it 3? In any case, it was great fun and, yes, pretty much as you describe only you had to cause enough damage to the robbers car for it to be destroyed

Re: Leaked prices for the future DLC's

Cops & Robbers sounds like it's the MP game from Revenge - 2 teams red & blue where one team has to get to finishing point before being taken down, they get a 10 sec head start but no boost.

Sounds like this is how Marked Man evolved.

Ah right, yes, I remember that from Revenge but there was a Cops n Robbers in 1 or 2 that was SP.

Hopefully it won't be too similar though, otherwise it would just be boring. It needs to be completely different to any current matches/races. Also, they're releasing a couple of police cars along with it I think.

Confirmed Pricing for toy packs

Burnout Paradise Toy Collection
$12.99 / €12.99 / £9.99 / 1000 MS
This collection gets you ALL 9 Toy Vehicles. That's the 8 cars and the amazing Toy Nakamura Firehawk motorcycle.
This represents the best possible value for you, and it's the only collection that has the Toy Firehawk.
If you love the Toys as much as we do, then this is collection that you want!

Burnout Paradise Toys Collection 1
$5.99 / €5.99 / £4.99 / 480 MS
This smaller collection gets you Toy versions of the Hunter Cavalry, Hunter Manhattan, Krieger WTR and the Jansen P12.

Burnout Paradise Toy Collection 2
$5.99 / €5.99 / £4.99 / 480 MS
The counterpart for Toy Collection 1, this gets you the Toy Takedown 4x4, Inferno Van, GT Concept and Hunter Citizen.

...shame they are slightly increased prices compared to last release.

A little steep, £9.99 is pure robbery I mean come on, you can get the full game in the form of 'The Ultimate Box' from Play.com for only £25. What exactly do these Toy Car's give you, apart from the ability to get a few extra trophies
As far as I can see nothing, there's no extra races, or burning routes etc for them, and no specific events you have to use them for. Basically their just a few extra cars, which means if like myself you've completed the game ages ago all the way to 102%, yeah you can drive around in them for a bit, but they don't really bring any further gameplay to the game.
A HUGE thumbs down from me I must say

Re: Leaked prices for the future DLC's

I was really looking forward to the Toy Cars but £9.99 is pushing my loyalty too far, I'll wait and see if they put it on special offer.

Criterion are going have to try harder than that to get Killzone 2 out of people's consoles...

Re: Leaked prices for the future DLC's

Looks like this mornings £9.99 was a mistake and my original £7.99 IS the correct price.

Nothing new comes from these from what I know except smaller toys looking cars ... probably easier to weave thru traffic though

Re: Leaked prices for the future DLC's

that doesnt bode well for the price for the island- It looks like it will be well over a tenner - my bets are now itll be priced near £20!

I hope im wrong.

<edit>

We posted at the same time - the £7.99 is dear but not as bad as the 9.99 price so maybe hte island wont be quite that bad in price then.

Re: Leaked prices for the future DLC's

Has anyone downloaded the toy cars yet? Do they add much to the game?

Toys cars are great fun, quite different handling to the "normal" cars and also different characteristics (they are great at barrel rolls). They are much smaller too and look very small next to some of the other cars. They also appear to be much tougher and will literally bounce other cars of the road with ease.

The best is the bike ... or rather the rider of the bike ... he appears to be a bit sulky and twitchy, leaving him standing causes a few temper tantrums

I went an buckled too - the mini moke is a lot of fun. When you first see the cars in the garage it feels a bit of a rip off - I was expecting them to be a lot smaller than they are, it's not until you get them into traffic that their size is noticable.

They also must be made of plastic as they only scratch them you crash them...

There's a problem somewhere with the cars though, I got the trophy for winning a race in a toy car even though I came 4th.
