Burnout Paradise coming to PSN

Massive news this week, here on the Burnout team!

Today we’re proud to announce another PlayStation exclusive for Burnout Paradise. This fall, we’ll be making the entire game available for download via the US PLAYSTATION Store. You’ll finally be able to join us in Paradise City without leaving the comfort of your home, and you won’t have to get up to put the disk in!

The download will be $29.99, but it’s not the disk version of the game we originally released back in January. This is an all-singing, all-dancing version complete with all the free packs so far. Here are some of the highlights. All new game modes, like Online Marked Man and Online Road Rage. Awesome new vehicles, including the Hunter Olympus and Nakamura Rai-jin Turbo. 70 all-new challenges featuring against-the-clock gameplay and leaderboards plus the in-game calendar and news page. Check the details on our website.

Re: Burnout Paradise coming to PSN

That’s pretty cool, I hope they offer a “full installation” option for those that already have the Blu-ray release aswell, just being able to hop into that game without needing the disc would be great, it would certainly lead to more “quick play” sessions.

Re: Burnout Paradise coming to PSN

This is really cool news - I kind of regret not getting GT5P from PSn - I am too lazy to keep changing discs that is why I always play COD4

I got GT5P on disc for resale value, but there is no point selling it because it is only worth £10 now, I should have just got the DD.

I will probably get this game from PSN, great 'pick-up n play' game.

I highly doubt that they will allow full install from disc, because if they do that people will just buy second hand.

I'd guess that it's around 10gb, could be wrong though

I suppose Sony is testing the waters with downloadable games which is very good. But what happens when you are done with the game and want to sell it?

That's why they will never get my custom (and i suspect that of many others). Unless that $29.99 price tag translates to £15

If you're anything like me, you'll never want to trade Burnout Paradise (in fact I've returned to it this week after a break and I'm rediscovering why I've put 55 hours into the game already )

Re: Burnout Paradise coming to PSN

Since I've heard 0% news, I'm looking to get this on blurry instead. As mentioned, full install would be nice, but I can't imagine this would happen from a piracy perspective... you'd have a full install but then probably still have to have the disc present.

Re: Burnout Paradise coming to PSN

I'd be interested to know the price of the PSN version as I picked up the disc for £16 last week. I wonder if this kind of price range plus the associated resale value of the disc will be considered?
A great game and with more free DLC and trophies on the way I'd say this is the best content on the store (or XBox Live) to date!

Re: Burnout Paradise coming to PSN

Where did you pay £16 for it? Used copy I presume. It's download price can't be that cheap.

I'm surprised how well this game has kept its value. Released in January and still no lower than £25 in a lot of stores.

I'm disapointed with Grid and think I should of choose this instead. Love them trophies and don't like to support lazy developers.

Thanks, but it doesn't say it's out in the UK store there, just the "Playstation Store" - little bit worrying as they've only mentioned a US price too?

Criterion have never split their releases between the regions before so I doubt this will be any different.

What time is the update? Usually.

I'm interested to hear an official price and if indeed its a Euro release.

The time its going to take to download means I'll probably get to install and play it Monday afternoon.

Late afternoon I think.

I played this quite a lot on the 360, but I could be tempted to download if the price is right (and it is available in the UK).

I still need to have another go at downloading the Little Big Planet beta. So slow the other night!

Not sure what the size is, but the cost is £25

How the hell can they justify that?!

Re: Burnout Paradise coming to PSN

***!!! How the hell can they justify a price of £25, it only cost £16 in the US store, and £20 brand new from currys!

I really wanted to buy this to have the game on my hd, but no way I am paying £25 for it.

If the US or HK versions are region free (so I can play against UK payers) then I will get it from one of those stores.

I thought I was going to have a hard time in decding which to get, this or Wipout, but thay have clearly made that descision for me.
