Has anyone noticed the dark island in the horizon at the South East end of Paradise City ? You can see if by looking from the bottom of the hotel near teh shoreline, and there's an incomplete bridge leading to it. It looks a prime candidate for an expansion on it, so imagine my surprise when I could see the outlines of buildings on it. I'm pretty sure these weren't there when I first played the game, but I dont remember any further updates following the original one when first played. Anyone else noticed this, or am i just imagining it all ???

Can't say I've noticed it before, but then I haven't really been looking at the scenery much while playing! Just had look, and the incomplete bridge starts next to angus wharf, just south of the junkyard (right next to a petrol station).

Just loaded up the demo, and its on there too, so its probably nothing...

There is a picture somewhere on one of the PS3 forums with the originaol paradise city map and the map that we all have now - there was a huge section on the bottom of the original map and a whole new island off the east coast which contained an airport - the general consenus was that the new areas would hopefully be available as downloadable content.

Heres hoping that this is true as the game is awesome.

The airport is already part of the main map and is indicated on there. You can already access that part of the map.

That map doesnt show the airport - its just the current map everyone has access to.

It's an abandoned airport... If you do a freeburn with someone and find the 2 player challenge called "Hoop-La" (or similar), it'll guide you to there. There's a couple of "hidden" areas on the map, including the airport, rally race track and mineshaft

Aaaaah - that airport - the abandoned airfield - the one on the map I posted earlier shows a massive island of the east cost which is reputedely an active airport.

Yes, I was just wondering if the buildings on the distant island were new..don't remember seeing them before. Still, I shouldnt really be in a hurry for more as I still get lost going around the main map

I have been told that if you listen to the podcasts from Criterion it looks VERY likely that the island will be opened up as downloadable content.
