Anyone else gutted they can't play Forza?

All my mates are playing Forza and I desperately want to play it, but it seems silly buying a new console just for one game. By the time I've bought all the add-ons required it's near £200. Gah. I want Forza for the PS3...

I recently bought a PS3 primarily for GT5 & MGS4! You should be able to pick up an arcade console for half that £200 no sweat...........and Forza is quality!!!

That and Fable II are making an Elite look tempting. It would also be nice to see what all the Halo fuss is about.

Is forza any good? the previous one was okay, although I didn't think a great deal of Fable 2.

Is she deaf? She better had be if you bought a 360, as she will wonder what the thing which sounds like a Harrier Jump just is under the TV.

I am not bashing the 360, but personally I can't stand mine.. Mine is mod'ed and I could get free games IF I wanted too.. But every time I switch it on, I just can't stand the noise that it makes...

Its just so loud.. It winds me up!

Re: Anyone else gutted they can't play Forza?

I had the same feeling when i saw Forza 2 on my cousinns 360, with that and Ninja Gaiden 2 coming out that was enough encouragement i needed to get a 360 so now own both, although the 360 is my main gaming platform.

Load the game to the HD and no more noise or very little noise.

Good point.. I have never played with the 'copy to HD' functionality as I got fed up with my 360 long ago. Saying that, you would still get 'fan noise' which on mine is still equivalent to a steam train going full pelt through a tunnel (OK.. A slight exaggeration perhaps)

Out of interest (off topic), how exactly does this work.. What stops people from 'renting' games and copying them to their HD.. Do you still need the original (in the drive?) to play the game.

Re: Anyone else gutted they can't play Forza?

Never liked Fable or Halo (played both on the PC) so the idea of buying a console for a single racing game with GT a few months ago is just wrong. Happy with NFS Shift to tide me over until GT is released.

there are other decent games on the 360, so no need to buy it just for one game....try some other good ones too.

Made me laugh!

Both the Gears games have cracking single player campaigns IMHO (adding to other reccomended games) and the orginal GRAW is available on the 360 also (never made it to PS3).

YES, me!

There is no way I can afford an XBox + new wheel (got PS3 + G25 already) + live subscripsion + game at the moment

This is turning into a 360 games recommendation thread which doesn't belong in this forum. Please try and stay on topic or this thread will be closed sooner rather then later.

Well I bought a Elite anyway. Forza is quality but I feel dirty for playing it. If only they did it on the PS3...

Re: Anyone else gutted they can't play Forza?

If the 360 supported my G25 wheel I'd buy one tomorrow for Forza 3.

The waiting for GT5 is a joke, I believe all THREE Forza games have been released since GT4 in the time we've been waiting for GT5. OK, the first would have been under development at the same time as GT4 but that means that we've had two complete Forza games come out on the 360 in less than the time it has taken Polyphony to get out GT5.

It will be interesting to how the games shape up against each other whenever they finally get GT5 out the door. I wonder will they delay it to try to catch up with whatever features FM3 beats it on? Will be very surprised if GT5 manages to clearly beat FM3.

Re: Anyone else gutted they can't play Forza?

I too wondered if I should buy Forza 3, but my XBOX360 is just way to loud. I've tried copying games to the HDD and playing them from that but it still way to noisey - my PS3 isn't quiet, but compared to the XBOX its silent.
Funny, but I used to use a projector that was a little noisey, so I didn't get to bother about the noise, but now with an LCD TV it just grates. I know I'd buy F3, play it and then moan on about how much noise it makes....

Nope not at all. The PS3 is getting Gran Turismo 5 next year which looks like it will be much better. I've played Forza 3 and it is pretty average. I voted it average on the 360 forum.

Completely agreed, I HATE turning my BRAND NEW Xbox 360 Elite on as the noise does my head in. My OLD launch model PS3 60gB is silent compared to it.

Hehe, Git!! I want to buy one too just for Forza but the GF will skin me and then deny me love for months!!

I am waiting for GT5 and it is taking for ever and at best will have it just after the March 2010 japanese release but I am not too confident with that release date. In the meantime I want Forza 3 to keep me sane!!

I am gonna have to buy her chocolate and to become a feeder ;-)

PS

I sent her a text last night in an attempt to sweeten her up. The text read: '' I love you more than my motrobike, TV, PS3, PC and surround System put together'' The first thing she asked me when I got home was what I wanted!!

Jeez you can't tell your GF you love her without her suspecting a scheme!! muahaha

Re: Anyone else gutted they can't play Forza?

Forza 3 is quality, and really should be played with a wheel, but the lack of support for the G25 is a disappointment, although the Fanatec Porsche wheel is the true choice.

However if you have a MS Wheel you can make an adapter and use the G25 pedals with it, which actually makes a big difference. As soon as I connected the G25 pedals I was consistently 3 seconds quicker than I was with the MS pedals.

Overall Forza is a great game with a long career mode, realistic crash damage and fantastic physics, I think the GT5 developers will need to make something special to beat Forza 3

This is the BIG let down for me in Forza 3 (and absolutely nothing to do with the game itself), I have a playseat, G25, pc and ps3 all hooked up. The hassle of substituting wheels/pedals to the set up is just ludicrous and drives me crazy that MS won't support the logitech products. And for this sole reason this game doesn't get played as much as my other racers as it feels completely wrong with a pad. BIG to MS for being such idiots!

Forza 3 is ok if you want to play an arcade racer.

Re: Anyone else gutted they can't play Forza?

After having forza 3 for a week or so now, whilst its a good game its nothing special, maybe its because i played quite a bit of forza 2, but the career just got a bit repetitive and boring, even on hard u are 1st by the 2nd corner and just race the same maps over and over.

Granted i haven't got xbox live as i don't see the point in paying for it when i got a ps3, and online side is supposed to be really fun if u can get some clean races, but overall i wouldn't recommend anyone shelling out for a new 360 for forza 3 unless u are going to play it online with mates, but even then online is supposed to be worse than forza 2.

Forza 3 is awsome IMO. The physics and handling is way better than Forza 2 and even GT5p (which was previously the best console driving experience IMO). It's actually not a million miles off some of the better PC racing sims (RFactor, GTR Evo etc.).

The 360 is a good console and they are dirt cheap these days (you can generally pick up a Jasper Elite with 3 or 4 games for less than £200! I paid more than that for the wheel that I play Forza with (Doesn't work with my G25 so I bought a Fanatec which works on the 360, PS3 & PC - result!).

On the other hand we should have GT5 (at least on import) in a few months time so if folk really don't want multiplatform gaming then that should more than meet their console racing sim needs.
