G25 - Left foot breaking??

I have had my G25 for a few days and am enjoying it.. BUT.. I am trying to fight the urge to change the controls to remap the clutch pedal as brake?

I know this isn't realistic, but as a Karter (who owns a Biland (look it up if you are interested)) this feels more natural to me when on the track...

It makes it more like the controller... Part of me thinks that I should leave the controls are default and try to drive like a real car.. But the other part of me thinks that as a compromise, having a left foot break might make the game more responsive?

Thoughts ??

Jon, I always left foot brake on the G25, i never go near the clutch pedal or re-map the pedals (if you can indeed do that), you just get used to it and you won't need to change it

So you use the your left foot, but on the brake pedal?

I just figured that if I was going down this route, re-mapping the pedals would make it more comfortable..

I will have a go breaking using the left foot.. I think it will be more natural for me, considering my experience with go-karting!

Yeah left foot braking is ok, really shouldnt remap the pedals, get used to it how it is incase u play other games in the future and then used to it.imo
Depends on the game and shifing style but if using sequential will left foot brake, but if on manual clutch may use a bit of both.

Re: G25 - Left foot breaking??

Yeah I had this dilemma and asked people on the GT5 forum the same question as when you play with a pad you generally brake and accelerate at the same time however if you drive a car you would never do that. Apparently, you would if you are a racing driver...

YouTube - rFactor: Evo IX on Laguna Seca

TBH, I still can't do the heel & toe technique properly and seeing I play most my games in Automatic shift, I use my left for braking and right for accelerating.
