The other thread was getting way too big so I've closed it and started a part 2.

Re: Wipeout HD + Fury Add On - Play & Help Thread Part 2

May i ask, when you download fury do you see two games in your folder or simply one game? I mean does fury appear as a standalone game or it just gets added to the original game?

Added on mate. Then when you select campaign on the main menu you get the choice of Fury or HD campaign.

It's an add on so it's combined with the original game. Once you do that the interface regards the menus and options layout also takes on a Wipeout Fury "skin". You can change that back to the original in the options.

Re: Wipeout HD + Fury Add On - Play & Help Thread Part 2

I know this must have been asked before but what ships is everyone using?. I suppose it depends on the track but there must one that people use most of the time.
On a side note, after having this game nearly 2 weeks, i just noticed yesterday that you can use the weapons you collect and change it to top up your energy again . No wonder my ship would explode quite a bit in racers mode

Re: Wipeout HD + Fury Add On - Play & Help Thread Part 2

Before fury, my favourites were:

Assegai (Good all-rounder)
Icarus (Good for speed)

Since Fury DLC I've been using the new Mirage ship. It's not too bad at all!

Any other suggestions?

I'm generally Mirage 95% of the time. Just hit my 100k points with them!

If im not mirage then its Harimau. The fFury ships look awesome!

Ads removed

"The ad has been removed from WipEout HD and we are investigating the situation to ensure that any in-game advertising does not affect gameplay," said a spokesperson

News: Sony removes WipEout HD ads - Strategy Informer

Adding ads in a game you have already paid for seriously takes the Michael. If they want to make a free add on and say ads are included, but to butter both sides of the bread of profit from ads and sales is... well, low and straight outta Microsofts book.

Glad i've not subsidized their experiments with this game.

I always used Goteki 45 in HD but I have been using Mirage the most in Fury.

Re: Wipeout HD + Fury Add On - Play & Help Thread Part 2

BLEEDIN' 'ECK , this kinda snuck up on me.

No e-mail from sony, no hype anywhere, no adverts that I saw.....
Then yesterday I was having a gander at metacritic and saw Wipeout Fury there (a fair few places above Wipeout HD).
Intrigued, I popped over to the Sony store and saw that they's released this new DLC months? ago......
Now I feel old and out-of-touch

Anyway, the Fury bit is GREAT. Only had today with it and think it's really good vfm. Can't wait to get fully stuck in once Batman and Il-2 "let me" (and worth the £8 as well imo).

I played the demo a couple of days ago (which puzzlingly isn't available on the Store anymore) and to my surprise I unlocked a couple of Wipeout trophies - from playing the demo

Re: Wipeout HD + Fury Add On - Play & Help Thread Part 2

fury is good and all that, but does anyone else think that the tracks really arent designed for speeds of Rapier or more?
maybe it me not used to them but the HD tracks just seem more flowing etc and easier on higher speeds, whereas the fury tracks are great on low speeds?

perhaps i just need more sideshift practice....lol

I have had WipEout for ages but not really played it much. Saturday night I fired up the projector and cranked up the 5.1......what a treat. Absolutely loved it. It really is one of the best looking and sounding games to date. Truly truly stunning. Shame my skills don't really do it justice

Just saw a bundle on the PS Store, released today, which contains Wipeout HD, along with Fury, for £17.99
Seriously considering buying this using a £20 PSN card.

Re: Wipeout HD + Fury Add On - Play & Help Thread Part 2

This is brilliant news as I can't even get my PS3 on the net
This having been said, I would rather a Hard copy of the game than a digital 1, if you guys only knew how many times my mate has had to reboot his machine, even returning 1 as it stopped him from using his console all together...
Apparently there is a fix for it now, but not good enough, he spent 4 times re downloading the game, lost all his save files, yeah well I did say back up ya stuff...
Oh well he still is none the wiser, every 2- 3 weeks I get him telling me about his WO HD woes...

Re: Wipeout HD + Fury Add On - Play & Help Thread Part 2

I just got this game today, and, seriously, it is crap, i don't care about the eye candy, its nothing like the 1st wipeout, game play is appalling, half the time you don't even know what you are doing...
For anyone that knows what the negcon is, I still have one, this games needs this controller.
I have wipeout on the ps2, have played it to death on ps1, and know this abortment...
Nice cash in Liverpool studios, on crap...
They have killed the franchise....
RIP WIPEOUT....
