Help
  1. Yes, but with the Party Mode DLC (basically a few 'pass the controller challenges'
  2. Yes you can. Doesn't matter what region, whether it's download or ultimate, you can still play with people who have a different version. The game saves however, are not compatible with different versions, so (for example) if you purchased a download version of the game you wouldn't be able to use the game save from your Ultimate Box version.
  3. Showtime is where you basically bounce your car down the street smashing into as many vehicles as you can to earn damage money. You activate it by pressing L1 & R1
Hope I've managed to help

Re: Burnout Paradise the ultimate Box-Noob-Question

basically, the ultimate box edition is the same game with all the updates and a new party pack included on the cd. its only useful if you dont have xbox live or aint connected online with your ps3 and cant download them.

so yes you can play online with other who own paradise

if that doesnt explain it give this a read:Criterion Games

hope tht help.

PS. PARADISE IS AWESOME!!!

It just means your friend has a higher showtime score or faster road rule (to beat a road rule you need to get along the entire stretch of road as quick as possible, without turning off, your time is then your road rule time) than your current best so you can compete with friends if you like. To do a showtime go to the road you want to do it on & press R1 & L1 together

To own a road you need to beat both the offline showtime & offline road rule for that road. If you press up on the d-pad it will cycle between road rules & time for that particular road so you can see what your target is.

Re: Burnout Paradise the ultimate Box-Noob-Question

Road rules don't get turned on, they're always there.

While in game press Up on the D-Pad until you see "Best Road Time (Online)" or "Best Road Time (Offline)" (The offline ones are just pre-set ones for the game) at the top-centre of the screen where the street name is. You'll see the time you have to beat on the road. Go to one end of the road and race to the other end once you start you'll see the timer tick away at the top of the screen. When you get to the end it'll tell you if you've beaten the time or not.

If you're still confused give me a shout! Also, if you fancy some freeburning on the occasional Thursday evening let me know!

Ah thanks.

But Does it matter what side of the road you are on? when your beating a time...
See on this image:

On the islands, with the diffrent streets, for example on paradise keys bridge does it matter what side you start on?
Thanks

Re: Burnout Paradise the ultimate Box-Noob-Question

Short answer: No
Long answer: Nope!

You'll find that one way can sometimes be quicker than the other, but It really doesn't matter as long as you don't turn onto another road!

Re: Burnout Paradise the ultimate Box-Noob-Question

Another thing... Only the offline road rules contribute to the game's completion percentage, so they're the ones to go for. The online ones are good for smug comments to friends though!

1)When your picking a car what does strength mean?
2)When doing a online challenge, when you've compleated it sometimes players have X instead of a tick what does the X mean?
3) I try to talk from my ps3 eye but no one can hear me why? The blue lights on btw
Is there any detailed map of where all the yellow agates and billboards of paradise city are? i have 2 more yellow gates to smash and 2 more billboards to smash.

How tough it is .... greater strength is more resistant to other cars taking you down.... downside is that they are generally slower too.

It means they joined after the challenge started and are not included in the challenge.

The criterion web site has a save game analyser. Follow the instructions on the website to export and save your game then upload to the website. it will show you a map of all the remaining items you have.

Regarding the PS eye, on the XMB go to Settings > Accessory Settings > Audio Device Settings and check that you've got the input device set to the PlayStation Eye.

First Question: Toy Cars are fun, but the novelty can wear off but Cops N Robbers would be my first choice as it's a new online game type that's still quite popular. I'd honestly spend a couple more quid and get the Island though!

Second Question: I've been told that there are no drivers in the cars to keep the age rating down (Imagin the drivers with the cars being smashed all over the place!).

Re: Burnout Paradise the ultimate Box-Noob-Question

Try fish-tailing them or hitting the side of the car, that always works for me! What's your current preferred car and how far through the single player are you?
The Carson GT Concept (Or GT Flame) is my favourite, it's quite tough, yet speedy for a stunt car. You need to get your burnout licence for it.

I have B class license, My highest unlocked car ismontgomery hyperion and the carson carbon gt concept.
And i currentlym use the PCPD HAWKER from the police cars.
I like a car with nice handleing, like the R turbo roadster, and hard to take me down and easy to take down others.
I prefer stunt or aggression cars..

Any recomendations?

I prefer stunt or aggression cars..

Any recomendations?
Yup.. get your Burnout licence and use the GT Flame!
Until then, try the Ikusa GT. It's nowhere near as good, but the handling isn't too bad until you try a sharp turn and the steering locks!
