Re: 80710102 dns error....

Hi,

when you manually entered an IP address did you turn off DCHP on your router? (not 100% sure if necessary - but I personally in the past either used DHCP or done everything manually).

Have you definitely entered a manual IP address that is the same as your router except for the last number, then entered 255.255.255.0 as subnet and finally the exact router IP (for example 192.168.1.1) as gateway?

I had the same sort of problem, followed this tutorial on how to put the PS3 in the DMZ and everything is fine now. How to: Put your PS3 into a DMZ - Call of Duty Forums

" In your Internet Browser, type the address of your default gateway, this will take you to your Router Configuration Page. Look for any mention of DMZ"

did it and the paged asked for user name password!

1 lol tyr changin your ip address to .2 or above you have done, then turn firewall off in vista.

2. if this dont work, your adding change ontop of change id suggest reseting your router/network fresh and new and start again matey

Re: 80710102 dns error....

nothing about bit rate matey go back to auto setings and you should see (among other things)

ip address
default router
primary dns

these are the ones you need to look at

5 am where are you?

ok ignore dmz and port forwarding for now if you go to auto setup is it showing

ip address 192.168.2.3
default router 192.168.2.1
primary dns 192.168.2.1

obviousley it wont be the same but you get my drift?

if all 3 are the same youve goto change the first one to another number otherwise its on the same channel as your laptop if you do aoutomatic then go to manual settings

custom>wire(d) less settings manual settings,
speed duplex >auto detect
ip addres manual

ip address 192.168.1.3
subnet mask should be there
primary dns 192.168.1.80
secondary dns blank
>mtu auto>
proxy server do not use
upnp off for now

Re: 80710102 dns error....

This is the way I have it on the PS3.

IP Address - Same as your router but with a higher number at the end (my default gateway is 192.168.2.1 so I changed my PS3's ip address to 192.168.2.80)
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
default router 192.168.2.1 (thats what my one is)
same as default router for primary and secondary DNS

I also disabled UPnP as I have heard of people having problems when its enabled. After you have dont all that do what it says in the link on your computer/laptop but remember to change the internal ip address to the one that you gave your PS3 in the DMZ bit (in my case it was 192.168.2.80), don't forget to restart the router and PS3 when all is done.
