Current connection issues 12th Dec

Hi,

I downloaded and enabled this morning, created my character etc and had a good look around.

I have come to logon this afternoon and I have had connection errors for about an hour - so has a friend of mine who is also trying.

Swamped?

Possibly.

They had it down from 12 to 1 this afternoon for backend server maintenance. Looks like the current issues are still ongoing...

well i was hoping that this would have gone better. Since downloading and trying for about 3 hours on and off still no joy. I know its a "beta" but lets face it i bet sony was hoping it wasnt too far off a full public release, its even got a mention on the bbc technology pages. Anyone think there is any hope of getting on tonight

It only seems to be the euro server tho, tried the jap & us servers earlier on and got straight on.

If you really wanna try it out try the other servers

Had problems getting on earlier.
Sod's law got on and SWMBO wanted to watch Strictly

Got TV back about 10:30, managed to get onto UK, US and HK Home.
Played some games of pacman on HK Home

Amazing, you buy a £300 console and end up playing games nealry 30 years old

Just tried to login now, hoping I could get on being past midnight and all...

but get C-931 connection error. Server is still down - getting ridiculous now..

might wait till the full version is available as beta is doing my head in

its a joke, why release something this faulty, I know its a beta, but to actually test something it has to do the basic function of working...

I was on last night for around an hour and it seemed pretty good. I was talking to a few people online and they liked it too. It does need more locations of course a nice beach, forest etc location would make it better.

got in and immediatley kicked again while downloading the theatre software. Overall really not impressed that it took them 2 years to come up with this..Then again sony have always sucked at writing software for anything. These connection problems were always going to happen with Sony not spending much on adding new servers e.t.c. to cope for demand. And believe me that is all it is, not enough bandwith on the servers, surley they should have seen this comming. As for anyone trying to get on all morning give up because when you do get on you will be extremley underwhelmed, this was my last shot for keeping my PS3 and if the content stays this rubbish with this kind of interactivity and lack of integration it will be going straight on ebay. How much do 60gb originals go for now with 250gb HDD installed?

Not sure if its due to server errors, but I downloaded Home, start it up and it only gets as far as the "this game access your hard drive, so don't switch off the console" message. It just hangs on that screen and the only thing I can do is press the PS button and quit the game.

I have deleted Home and redownloaded it, but get the same problem. Does it just take a stupidly long time to get past that screen or is likely to be caused by the server problems?
