Anyone got an approximate date for home...I just feel like my ps3 is severely falling behind my xbox now in terms of games and general interface features...The only reason imm holding onto to it is for blu-ray and waiting for this home thing to come out. Come on sony pull your finger out of your bum holes. Also as a side topic are there any big games comming out that are going to run as well fram rate wise on the ps3 as they do on the 360, just seems to feel like all of the top games on multi-format run a lot better or have some edge on the 360, and being a owner of a ps3 since launch along with 360 i think im in a good position to judge this. Im really hoping they do something drastic soon because it just feels like a waste of money at the moment with my ps3 just sitting there solely for blu-ray purposes. Still loving the formular 1 championship edition though.

Have to agree.

I got an invite recently to the public beta, had a hell of a faff trying to download it and was then distinctly underwhelmed when I did finally manage to get it and run it.

I seem to remember many moons ago Sony touting this as the first "killer app" for the PS3. Can't see it, personally....

Think this looks like a statement from 2007, this year I'd say all PS3 versions have been at least as good as their 360 alternatives. Have you actually bought the same game on both platforms and seen for yourself or have you read too much 360 propaganda!

Regarding Home, I like it, agree it seems quite pointless at the moment but I can see it being useful a few months down the line. For example clubhouses. If you are in a clan you can have your own clubhouse to meet up while waiting for a match to start and launch the game from there. While waiting for members, play some pool or chat. It might work, or it might not, but I'm sure for some it will. BTW, I'm still unconvinced that it'll be 'essential' but I must say it's very impressively done so far.

i really don`t want to get into this but it annoys me so much when i see stupid comments like this.

all the multiformat games i have played recently are on par or better than the 360 counterpart. thats your judgement out the way then. as for falling behind the 360 with games, . littlebigplanet, motorstorm2, resistance2, mgs4, buzz, wipeout hd, singstar and gtp5 are just some of the exclusive games besides the multiformat offerings and you think that puts it behind 360.

Seriously guys im 30 and i cant be arsed with the whole fanbiy stuff or whatever its called. Im just saying i feel let down compared to how many good games there were in each genre for ps2, and yes i do have some of the same games on both consoles FROM this year and there are differences.

Assassins creed, GTAIV looks far far far better and is well noted in nearly every review of the game (i mean come on this should have been a ps3 exclusive). And most recent fallout 3 which again is well noted in most reviews for having issues.

After re-reading this thread i can see why you guys can be annoyed with my comments but as i sid in the first place its my opinion, but hey i did some reading on the net and apparently the cell processor is still a pain in the butt to programme for apprently compared to the 360s more PC like architecture. I mean when are there going to be some games that are going to run better on the PS3 so i can get rid of the jet in my living room.

The games are already out there on sale right now. Just look and you'll find them. Stop reading on the net and just play

Not sure if I agree with your GTA4 comment, even one of the bods from Rockstar said the game looks better on the PS3 in his opinion, but both versions look different so it's a personal thing. On the 360 it was brighter and clearer but had pop-up issues and framerate problems. On the PS3 it was gritty looking and less cartoony and due to the large install, had far less pop-up.

I can't understand how anyone can complain about lack of games on the PS3 these days, I can't find enough time to play all mine! In the past 3 months I've had LBP, Wipeout HD, Shaun Whites Snowboarding, Farcry 2, Dead Space, Fifa 09, COD:WaW and Midnight Club Los Angeles to play, the latter 6 of these are multiplatform and all are as good if not better than the 360 versions. Shaun Whites for example on 360 runs like a dog, framerate issues and pop-up problems make it almost unplayable (yes I have played on 360 at a mates house) yet it has none of these problems on my PS3.

might check out this shaun white then....agree with pop ups on GTAiv but draw distances are a lot better and textures generally look a lot sharper.

Whoa, hold your horses, I said it's better on PS3 but it's still not a particularly great game!

I like it, but I got it for £18 when Amazon had a deal on. If you can pick it up cheap again go for it but don't pay full price then blame me if you don't like it, I know a few people on here have said it weren't to their tastes!

Agree with you too on the 'textures look sharper' statement, which is what I meant about it being 'gritty' looking, could have said fuzzy. If you want a new game, out of the ones I mentioned I'd get Dead Space, that looks amazing on the PS3, very atmospheric and creepy too.

You're going to have to dig hard to find some sources there mate becuase each and every single review i've read about the game cites negative differences in both the console versions. It's been a while now but I was under the distinct impression (from my mates at least) that the PS3 version was the better of the two.

They're getting to grips with it. Take Dead Space as an example. An absolutely stunning game on both machines, i'd go as far to say near identical graphically - which was lead developed on the 360. There's bugger-all wrong with the architecture of the ps3 it's just lazy developers or tight publishers wanting a multiplatform release regardless of standards.

If your going to make sweeping generalisations based on net gossip, you're gonna get pulled up no matter what your age! I do not think that questioning someone's broad statements make you a "fanboy". What I would say is that there are many initial reviews of games like Fallout 3, where the differences and so called "advantages" of the 360 version are hyped and Fallout 3 is a prime example of this.

I own both consoles, so I side with no one but . . .

I have played lots of games side by side, the only game that is truly identical is COD4, but then no one bothered with voice so I used to play it on the 360.

Lets be honest when the details came out about the 2 consoles it seemed it was going to be a one horse race, clearly the PS3 was miles better. But that hasn't exactly happened has it. Who would have thought Sony fanboys would be arguing the toss that their version of the game was as good as the 360's, I am sure thats not exactly how they originaly pictured it !

As I say I have tried lots of games and there always seems to be something missing in the PS3 version (mostly only slight things), or there are server problems or late updates, so thats why most of my games are for the 360.

I'm hoping Killzone and Socom (already reported probs) turn out to be good, because the PS3 needs a good exclusive shooter (tried Resistance 2, not for me).

Seriously I can't see why people come over here and do this, I'm usually whoring around in the 360 forums and to be honest there aren't many of the PS3 lads coming over there a flaming the 360 and if the did I'm sure they'd get the same response but I think everyone is entitled to there opinion.
Personally as a owner of both consoles (the 360 gets used the most bloody gears of war ) I'm looking forward to Home and some of the exclusives that are gonna land soon as I feel that the PS3 is gonna get stronger and stronger over the next couple of years.
I know there have been some issues with some games but they were games that were ported over to the PS3 as the 360 was the lead development platform but a few patches would sort that out (I think).
