Namco Museum Beta / Japanese Home Beta

Hi people.

Just making this thread to ask if anyone on here got an invite to the Japanese home beta invite, and if they also got a Namco Museum beta invite code also?

I've read reports that all JPN Beta testers got this other invite. If you log into your Japanese account and go to the arcade, you'll notice theres a few games there that arent in the EU/US arcades, these include DARTS, PACMAN, GALAGA and DIG DUG!

In order to play these other games however, you need to have this installed which us EU/US Home people dont have.

The good thing is, its apparently also sharable, just like the Home Beta. So im here to ask if you'd be kind enough to let me/others download it from your account so i/we can play the other games?

Thanks for reading, and hopefully someone on here got a JPN invite!

Re: Namco Museum Beta / Japanese Home Beta

I got a Namco Museum invite.

You download and install it and it's a game in it's own right, it's not a version of Home. When you play games you get "rewards" and the next time you log into home you get these rewards.

For example if you complete a level on Pacman you get a pacman t-shirt. Same on Dig-dug you get an ornament for your flat.

The games are:
Pacman
Dig-Dug
Galaga
Xevious

So far I have unlocked a few T-shirts, some shorts, an ornament for my flat and a Galaga arcade cabinet for my flat.

Don't get too excited though, it's only the clothes that you'll be able to use with your EU account, you can put the arcade cabinet and the ornament in your flat but next time you log in they get removed. Also if you try and play the arcade cabinet it says you need to use your jap account.

So basically if you get a code you can download Namco Museum, install it and it will show up in your games list just like other games/demos and you can play it with any account.

Hope that helps, any other questions?

(no, I don't want to "share" it, too scared about my account to do that lol)

Re: Namco Museum Beta / Japanese Home Beta

Regarding the Japanese Beta, is there any difference between the UK version of Home and Japan?

I know i'l be able to log in with my EU account, but will the program still have japanese language menus etc? or is it a universal ? just wondering before i install it later, wont bother if its going to be in japanese text!

It's just the one download. The languages and that change depending on what account you log in with.

I got my beta from my Japanese account and have mainly been using it with my EU account. On the PS3 XMB it's all in English too, it doesn't install under "Game" but under the "PlayStation Network" bit instead and just says "Home" and the background goes a lovely Blue colour

If you check the Japanese store (or the Hong Kong store, which is practically identical but in English) you'll see that the Namco Museum beta is up for download.

However, I just checked Wikipedia, it says that Namco Museum .comm is on the PS store, is that basically the full version of the beta? And is it also free?

EDIT: I just checked Wikipedia. Namco Museum .comm is the full version of the beta, but it costs. I don't think the beta is still available for download anymore, and I'm not sure if the beta is even playable any more.

Thumbs up Re: Namco Museum Beta / Japanese Home Beta

Make a Hong Kong Account via the steps shown here - - How to Create a Japanese PS Network Account and Download Mainichi Issyo

Enter the Hong kong Playstation Store and download the Namco Museum Beta (It is a white background with a large red N) its in demos.

Downloading from Japan will not let you use the unlockable arcade machines within home but from Hong Kong it will, well sort of it will launch the namco beta and load the game you tried to play.

Get a HK ID it is much easier in english and future proof untill sony block it.

you can also use this to get demos that have not hit eu/us.

I asked sony why we were missed out and they basically told me the japanese were the guinea pigs and a typical japanese person will just play games go to work and watch anime, so they get the cool stuff whilst we only get what has proven to be good and tested by them.

HK is english US is english, UK is english the main market of PS3 is english so why does everything have to be developed in japanese cant we share the hk and us server as one and divide by language instead of continent cmon sony wake up we want the good stuff too.

By the time most things are tested between now and the release of ps4 there will be no point as people will be moving on to the next console. 2011 last i heard.

someone please post this to sony i have already done so and think a rise in complaints might teach them to leave us out.

The beta version is up and running still and will not cease to operate as it is executed from your ps3 not the server.

I hope this is usefull to all.

You don't need to use a credit card at all, credit card detail's aren't required for the account. As for the address, just make it up
