Re: Site Maintenace - Cannot add funds

I have had this "cannot add funds" message tonight, though without the "site maintenance" explanation. I tried re-entering my credit card info on the PC site but this was rejected also, and after a few attempts I was told I couldn't try again.

I know for sure the details were correct - I'd used them half an hour earlier for a successful online transaction. Also, creditworthiness is not an issue. If its a format problem, Sony give you no information about this.

Its annoying that I cannot buy games unavailable in shops for my grandson. More seriously, it is extremely worrying that Sony's credit card processing is faulty. If I find I cannot use my credit card tomorrow because of Sony I shall take the matter further, to court if necessary.

I had this problem too with using my debit card. You have to put in a start date even if there isn't one on the card, i just put a rough guess when i got the card in and it worked first time.

Re: Site Maintenace - Cannot add funds

I'm also having this problem - does anyone have an email for ps network or something so we can query it? It seems it's going on all the time since 2.5 / 2.52 and nothing's being done about it!

Re: Site Maintenace - Cannot add funds

Thanks all

The definitive solution, having phoned the bank, is to enter card details exactly as they appear on your card bill, not as they appear on your card.
E.G. In my case, the name on the card is "Mr. X. XXXX.", but the name on the bill is "Mr <FORENAME> <SURNAME>".
Some sites don't require this, but Sony does.
I was annoyed when I posted my last message, but I now applaud Sony for taking extra security steps
