cannot add funds to wallet

Hi
Ive been waiting for wipeout HD for ages, went to purchase today and could not add funds to my wallet, got a 800 error, any one else had a problem?

I had a similer thing last week. Turns out my bank had put a block on my card as they thought the amount of online shopping i was doing was suspicious. I phoned my bank and the block was removed within 10 mins. Hope this helps.

i have had the same for 3 day's trying to put my new card details in, and it comes up with card details not valid. After 3 attempts, you cannot try again for 24hrs, been on the phone to Sony, and they are about as much help as a chocolate teapot. Still cannot put my details in to this day.

I had the same problem the other day.
When I went to my account details for some reason the card details were not correct,I changed them and all was fine.
Not sure how the details got "corrupted" in the first place but all was okay after updating them.

Eventually called the network gaming help team, they said it was an issue being expierienced by some people, and would be fixed soon, in fact I tried the next morning and it worked straight away........

Wipeout is a great game too !!

Still no joy, been trying since last Thursday, i have phoned them and emailed them, but still no joy, It makes me wonder do they know what the problem is. The quicker we can buy points with different payment options the better.

I have the same problem, I have tried 2 different cards but I keep getting the same 800 error.

I'm beginning to think they don't want my money.

Same problem here, ever since 2.50 firmware update - I get 80023102 error every time I try to Add Funds through the XMB option, as soon as I click "Transfer to Wallet" then "Credit Card", I don't even get to put the card details in.

If I try to Add Funds by going into the store first, then clicking the Add Funds button there, I can input my card number, address, etc, then I get "This service is currently undergoing maintenance"

Just off the phone to PlayStation helpline, the guy said lots of people are reporting this problem. He then went away and came back and said it was a problem with my account. He then said it was a problem with my internet connection and assured me that rebooting my router will fix this 80023102 issue. I suspect he's a muppet who has no clue. I'll try it now anyway and report back.

Am on the phone to some other muppet now, he seems a bit more clued up. He asked me to see if I could add funds/view billing information through the PS Store web site, which I can. So it seems my error is only when going through the console itself.

This is getting weirder: on the PS Store web site, I tried deleting my billing info.

I then went back to my PS3, and went into Billing Information, and put it in my password. This is where I'd always get the 80023102 error. This time however it asked me to add a card. I input my Maestro debit card details, then my address, etc on the next screen, and clicked Confirm, and everything seemed ok.

I then went back into Billing Information, input my password and low and behold, error 80023102!

And just to rule out my net connection being the problem, I've brought my PSP with 5.0 firmware to work this afternoon, and signed into the PSN on that through the work's WiFi. Now when I go to Billing Information I get error 80551002!!!!

I am getting this problem as well. It doesnt work even if I try to go on the store via PC. Just keeps on saying my card information is incorrect (which it is not)

Any other suggestions?...

Phone your Credit card company, and ask them is there a Hold on your credit card, i could not for the life of me add funds to my wallet, a week went past and still had the same problem, so i then phoned my Credit card company, and they had put a stop on my card just for the Sony Site for some reason, they said i put in the wrong security code which i didn't.

The fault i suspect was on the PS3 acount, they then authorised my card, but you may have to wait 24 hrs. for your account to become active again after you enter the wrong information 4 times on your PS3 you cannot enter any more until the 24 hrs. has expired.

When you do go to enter your details enter them through your PC onto the PSN STORE, i tried entering mine on the PS3 and it still didn't work, but after trying them through the PC they worked straight away.

I've got the problem aswell, i bought WarHawk on sunday no problem just bought it straight off my card without adding funds.

Tried last night to buy Wipeout hd, and everytime i got to checkout it just talls for a minute and then get an 800 error, i managed to add funds to my account when to my basket tried to checkout and still getting it.

Hope sony fixes it soon.

Hi Guys...

I am having the same problem...it has been a month now. I bypassed it by using the PSN PC website and adding funds via there but now that has closed down. So now i am stuck unable to add funds. Can someone help me out please. I know my internet connection is fine.

I tried to download wipeout hd again on wednesday anbd it worked first time so there must have been a problem at sonys end.

i can't add funds either.

keep getting problem with service.

when i try and go into billing information it prompts me for my password then gives me an error message when i put it in, 80 something. it's irritating, i only want to download a buzz quiz pack!

Well guys...i tried my other card (credit card) and it worked perfectly! I think Schumi 01 might be right! My Bank might have blocked PSN as my toher card works fine. So i will proably give them a call later and find out if indeed PSN transactions on my card are blocked or not

I am also having the same issues, I phoned up the support line and the girl did not know what to do to be honest, she seemed to be aware of the problem as she tried to direct me to the pc store. Unfortunatley it has been removed now which she did not realise and decided to escalate it to someone higher.

I then got this email two days later......

It gets worse.

I tried to logon to playstation.com with my email address and password to see if I could add funds through the web instead of through the PS3.

But my email address/password are not valid!?

I have tried asking them to send me an email to reset my password but I never receive the email from them and no matter what PC/Browser I try and log in from it still doesn't work.

Stranger still is that I can still log into my 'Chrisoldinho' PSN account using my username and password on my PS3 , so surely if it works on my PS3 is should also work on the website!

So good news is that I can still do online gaming, bad news is I cannot do any remote administration of my account through playstation.com and I cannot add funds to my wallet on the PS3 or through the website so I cannot pay for DLC

Sony's loss I guess!!

Nearly a month now and STILL I get this error and can't manage my account or add funds from the XMB. I added an account on my PS3 for my girlfriend and added her switch card and STILL I get this error, so it's not a problem with my card or bank, etc

I'm going to contact Sony today and ask them what to and see if I can add funds to my account over the phone.

Has the problem been apparent since FW 2.50?

Tbh the whole lack of support for this issue is annoying and they are unwilling to disclose what the problem is and dont offer any other alternative to the problem, for now I am not going to bother myself with spending any more

Sony support seemed bewildered by this when I phoned them 2 weeks ago, they said they'd "escalate" it. I've heard nothing back.

This problem only started happening for me immediately after the 2.50 update. Before that it worked fine, same switch card and everything

UPDATE

I spoke with a very helpful man from Sony Customer Services.

He explained the problem is with the FW 2.50 update. Unfortunately for the time being there is no fix but he advised me this has been escalated and Sony are working on a fix, FW 2.51 .

Also I was advised of a temporary workaround.

Sony's Media Manager 3 for the PSP has Playstation Store on it. I was told I could add funds through the PC application and also administer my account.

Unfortunately when I downloaded the application it needs you to plug in your PSP and I don't have one . So this workaround could work for those of you with a PSP wanting to add funds to your wallet but if your like me and don't have a PSP the wait continues

Spot on! We are the people willing to pay for their service..but it seems that they don't want the money fine by me lol

I was also having the same problem with downloading wipeouthd. But i connected to my account through my pc and added the funds there. Not sure if thois is actually a problem, but i added £15 to my account and have downloaded wipeout HD but my bank account has no money taken out of it. But it is not like am complaining with this fault.
