Is it just my machine or is the Playstation Store slower than the previous, I deleted my Cache and Cookies but still the icons take forever to load. They should test the programme first before rushing it out!!

I definitely agree, plus the UI is not as practical as the old one, don't like it at all!

Yes, i have the same issue, deleted everything and still really slow loading the icons.

Does everyone else have empty blue boxes on some of the menu's as well ?

Yep. Think they might just be there to maintain the look of the page, so there's not random tiles ending half way through a line. Icons are way too slow though.

I get really impatient with it, and can't be bothered waiting for things to load its like the days of Commodore 64!! but at least on that I had space invaders to play whilst it loaded!!

This has been mentioned a lot in the main PS3 section on the thread relating to the New 2.30 Firmware.

Everyone is having problems seeing the thumbnail images on the new store. The Store isn't slower, infact its much faster, its just that the thumbnails are slow to show up or are not showing up at all. I'm sure it will be resolved soon, at least I hope it will!

They shouldn't have really upgraded the store until it was working properly though.

I don't know if it was just luck or because it was early in the morning but for the last couple of days i too have noticed the icons in the store being very slow to load up. This morning i checked before i left for work to see if the store had been updated and they came up almost instantly. Hope it stays like that!!

I wonder if its worth waiting for the all the pages to load up fully then close it down and see if its any quicker when you open back up again

I don't bother waiting for them to load now, takes ages. The description is still there even if the thumbnail isn't.

Just been back on the PSN Store and since the update today the icons are now loading up much quicker thankfully.

Its now much more useable.

It's not really bothering me that much. I think it caches the images becuase once they've loaded they all seem to come up instantaneously whenever I go back into the store.

It's a bit of a non-issue compared with the diabolical categorisation. What on earth were they thinking with that one - the old store was at least easier to find demos.

I noticed this morning before work the shop was a little faster, and icons were loading much sooner than they were yesterday. This could be due to the relatively low internet traffic at this time of the morning across the exchange though?

Absolutely - the first thing i noticed when i looked at the new store layout was that there was no "demo" button on the left hand side - hopefully it will be added in the future

Does make you wonder if the slowness is due to the firmware or number or users accessing the store. The small not annoying glitch I've seen is when you scroll down the icons page on the right and the top row briefly appears at the bottom. Did they actually test this firmware????

Ive also noticed that some PSN games I have bought don't have he little red purchased bag next to them but some do, its all a bit random!!!

Did you buy from a different store. For example I downloaded the UEFA 2008 demo from the UK PSN store and it shows the little shopping bag icon. If I go to the US PSN store the same demo does not indicate the same thing.

Hmmmmm, both me and my brother in law are unable to access the store via Virgin media connections at the moment.

PS3 Internet browser works fine and i can sign in to the network (albeit very slowly) but the category buttons never load in the store (not just the thumbnails) so i can't even browse without thumbnails.

It sits there with the loading icon displayed for a couple of minutes then comes up with error code 80710B23 (PSN busy or not available). Been doing his since friday.

Brother in law has the same problem. I wonder if Virgin have messed up somewhere along the line.

Anyone else having this problem?

When i connect my PS3 to my Buffalo router (via ethernet or wirelessly) it frequently fails or takes forever to sign in and then when i finally do open the new store the buttons appear but it never loads any text or pictures. The buttons are inactive, you just see the animated loading icon then it times out after a couple of minutes (error 80710B23 which is "PSN busy or unavailable"). I am able to browse the web using the PS browser and if i do a connection test it passes everything and gets a NAT 2 rating.

It's only started doing this last friday and used to work fine even after the firmware 2.3 update for a couple of days. I haven't been tinkering with my router settings either.

If i connect the PS3 directly to the Virgin Cable modem it works fine. I can't really understand what's changed but my brother in law is also having the same problem since the weekend on a wireless connection to a netgear router.
