PSOne Classics PS3/PSP Question

Hi guys

I'm finally about to be back in full time work for the first time in a couple of years and am looking to pick up a PS3 and PSP pretty soon. I haven't really been interested in the PS3 much, but there's a few games coming up or just out I'm really interested in (wanted a PSP for yonks) and PSN sounds interesting.

Something that I liked the sound of in particular was PSOne classics. Now, these appear to be compatible with both PS3 and PSP, but if you download it on your PS3, will it then work on both platforms? That being the case, is there any way to transfer save games between the two platforms (example: play FFVII on the go on your PSP, then get home, plug your PSP in and be able to resume the same game on your telly?)

Re: PSOne Classics PS3/PSP Question

Yeah, it is possible to play a PSOne classic on both your PS3 and PSP and you can transfer save files between the two systems.

As far as I know, you can only transfer an actual game from the PS3 to the PSP (this is quicker than downloading it from the PSN on both consoles, though either way you only have to pay once - assuming both consoles are linked to the same account). As I said above, however, saves files can be freely transferred between the two consoles. If you Google it, you can find some how-tos for this, but to save you the trouble, try here.

Re: PSOne Classics PS3/PSP Question

With the right software on your PSP, you can covert PSOne games to play on it, these will not play back on the PS3, but if you have the original PSOne games it certainly a cheap way to experience those classics.
