Leaving PS3 turned on all week Folding - safe?

Hi, I don't think this is the correct section but I'm not sure where to post this question.
I got my PS3 Slim yesterday and started Folding@Home today.
I'm going on holiday for a week on Saterday and was wondering if it would be safe to leave it Folding for a week.
I read that it has a system where if it gets too hot it turns off?
Ps. It's in a well ventilated area.

Yeah we had one guy run his old phat [sic] PS3 for something like 27 days straight: AVForums Folding@Home Team? See this thread for more Folding@Home info, and feel free to join the AVF team!

As long as the total ambient temp dosent get too hot it should be fine, however it was shown that many consoles dont quite have the cooling they should, and there havent been (possibly) heat-related issues with some components in the past (360's RRoD and PS3's YLoD).

I say do it, and you can be the guinea pig, as it's new it'll still be under warranty

Thanks for the reply. Not sure if I'm goin to leave it on yet, I'm not the one who pays the bills! And thanks for the offer to joinin the AVF Folding team but I already joined CustomPC's team as they are the reason I read about Folding so I think it's only fair I join their team. Thanks again.

Leaving it on for extended periods shouldn't be a problem, it's when people switch their PS3s on and off a lot in quick succession (especially when they switch it off at the back) that can lead to problems.
