Playing EA games against friends with BT HUB (fifa09 + FN4)

Hi
I have a PS3 and Im using the BT Home Hub 1 to connect wirelessly.

I can get online no problem, and can play COD and MGS4 without any issue, but problems arise when it comes to EA Sports titles.

I can play random people, but when I invite a friend or they invite me, I always get the "game session no longer available" error message, so cannot ever play against friends.

Ive followed an online guide on port forwarding and set it up, but still cannot play friends.

What else can I do? Its so frustrating having £100 worth of games when you cannot play your mates!

Will setting the PS3 to DMZ in the router let me play? Or is there some other problem that Im not aware of?
Cheers
