BT Home Hub

Hi guys, sorry if this has been covered before.

I have the new BT home hub and my PS3 is connected wirelessley to it.

The problem I have is the time it takes to do anything online. I downloaded vidzone which took the best part of the day and it also takes around half an hour to download a music video. Same when I use the internet explorer the speed is worse than a dial up connection.

However, my internet speed is fine. I can download/use internet on my PC and the speed is great. Even Xbox live runs well.

Is there something I have missed in setting up the wireless network??

Any help really appreciated

cheers

Re: BT Home Hub

I use a BT home hub and although I do find the ps3 wireless noticably slower than my wireless pc it's not half as bad as your download speed is.

I'm no networking Guru so only things I can suggest are:

1. Resetting router
2. Accessing home hub control via bt software on your pc and trying other settings

I would say that in a good wind my ps3 downloads at roughly about half a MB per second (wireless). Can be a resonable bit slower during peak times on PSN though.

It would be worth you connecting your ps3 directly to your router just to see what the difference in speed is. If it's running much quicker via wired you could shell out on some Homeplugs which could be a cheap fix

Re: BT Home Hub

I'll look through the hub settings this evening. I probably missed something when I checked it out the first time.

It just seemed really strange that xbox live will run really fast but PSN runs slower than a pensioner with a false hip

Re: BT Home Hub

try setting a channel on the router rather than leaving it automatic. i was told to do this by bt, it made a little difference.
