ps3 and wireless router

does a wireless router have to be set up through a pc first before you can set up a ps3 with it? my brother in law has ps3 and internet access but no pc or laptop, how does he go about setting up a new router for the ps3 or will he need to borrow a laptop to set it up first?
hope that all made sense
thanks

Re: ps3 and wireless router

Possibly yes, However if the router has been probably pre-configured and has DHCP enabled then I think you can connect the PS3 to the router using an ethernet cable and configure the router from the PS3's internet browser.
