PS3 Internet Parental Control and Master User

I discovered (through stumbling in while he was online) that failing to put any Internet content control onto my 16-year-old's PS3 was a mistake I need to address.

I see there is a Trend Micro parental control service that I can activate for a fairly modest fee, which will allow me to block inappropriate websites.

However, this can be turned on and off by the Master User via their password, and I (perhaps foolishly) made my son the Master User when I set up the system.

Is there a way I can prevent him from turning off the parental control, without locking him out of the master account (and thus losing access everything he has set up in terms of games, downloads etc)?

well the only thing i can think of off the top of my head in security settings you can set up a 4 digit code to stop the browser from opening without the code!
this may be your only solution!!

Re: PS3 Internet Parental Control and Master User

Change the 4 digit security settings password to something only you know (Settings -> Security Settings -> Change Password) and then turn on browser start control (Settings -> Security Settings -> Internet Browser Start Control). This will require you to enter the 4 digit password before you are able to start the browser.

The security settings password is completely separate from the PSN account and so it doesn't matter if he has a master or sub account - if he doesn't know the 4 digit password he can't open the browser.
