PS3 benefits of NOT networking

Are there any considerations/benefits for NOT networking the PS3 ?

Or is that just not taking advantage of the whole idea of PS3 ?

Well you won't be able to play online with your friends buy/ download free demos/whole games from the store. I wouldn't be able to live with my PS3 not being online. This gen seems to be all about the online play.

There's no advantages IMO. Everything revolves around a net connection nowadays

None whatsoever.

You would also miss out on game patches, a lot of them are not released in the state they should be! eg Assasins Creed randomly froze until they eventually patched it!

Re: PS3 benefits of NOT networking

If mine wasn't networked i might as well just have the empty PS3 box under the Telly as it's 99% used for streaming from my PC
