Any help on this would be massively appreciated.
Bottom line, been on Vista (laptop user only) for more than 2years. When first got PS3 and that firmware uddate to enable media sharing - worked no probs whatsoever.
Couple of months ago, my profile got trashed on my laptop, meaning I had to set up another user profile on the laptop. I don't know 100% if the following issues are connected, but I'll be damned if I get media sharing to work now.
Ok, so, in netowrk and sharing centre:
NW discovery in on
File Sharing is on
Public Folder sharing is on
PW Protected sharing is off
Media Sharing is on. On the finer settings, I've deleted the PS3 as a device and then reset it up - the PS3 is definitely showing as approved and is set to be able to view anything.
However.
On the PS3 - it won't bloody access the laptop.
I've disabled and reenable media server functionality on the PS3. It's found the laptop and is showing the WMP11 icon. But when I select it - it says 'Access to the Media Server is not allowed. It is possible that the PS3 system name has not been registed. Please check with the media server'.
BOG OFF!! The laptop knows the PS3 exists (I've verified the mac addresses) and the PS3 is authorized. Bloody techno!!!
Also, I'm running Norton FW and this has the PS3 as TRUSTED. Not running Windows own FW.
PLEASE HELP
