Strange PS3 problem

Hey All I'm new here so if this has been covered I am most humbly sorry.
I have been playing My music from my WD 1td external Hd through my Hp desktop and a D-link dir 300 wireless router to My PS3 in another room. a couple of days ago my desktop dumped its guts and had to load in safe mode and use Macafee to scan it, when it finished scanning and the pc was up again the ps3 would still log in the psnetwork and the internet, but it will see the hard drive even acknowledge the songs are there but when I try to play them I get a media server error 80710092.
Any help, Cheers
