cannot set up wireless, desperate for help

Hello

I have just moved my ps3 into the bedroom and therefore can no longer play wired but will have to play wireless however I cannot set it up at all.

I have tried to connecting using the ps3 network settings but no luck at all.
I am with virgin media and my router is WGR614v9.

My ip is obtained dynamically and my dns is obtained automatically. My encryption is WPA-PSK.

Any help would be great

Thanx

Ryan

p.s. ask away for any information

Re: cannot set up wireless, desperate for help

It's all here in this very helpful guide.....

PlayStation 3 - Set Up a Basic Wireless (Wi-Fi) Network Connection

If that fails then you may need to reset your router to factory settings and reconfigure. Only do this if you know how to set it up again!

Good luck!

OK, do you know how to reset and reconfigure your router?

What is the error you are getting exactly? Have you tried changing your wireless security to WEP instead of WPA? What signal strength are you getting?

Re: cannot set up wireless, desperate for help

you could try these DNS setting ...not sure if it will
AVF K-Zone: Part VIII - Derailed

so you aint able to connect to the router at all......?
or you cant just sign in ?

when you are entering the encryption key right making sure you have all the case letters correctly (IE all letters and no numbers)

if your ip address on the ps3 ends in .1 change it to .2 or point anything other than .1.

no if you do it auto first then check through manual it should keep all the settings then just check your i.p address and if it ends .1change to .2 then check your connection.
