PS3 & 50meg BB Help!

Can someone give me instructions on how to set up PS3 with a static ip and how to put in dmz? I am not clued up on these things so the simpler you can explain the better!

I had 20mb BB with Virgin and I was getting 20 on speedtests regularly but on upload it is capped at 768kb and around 45 ping! This is what I thought was my problem was, which is that everytime I am the host on GT5p other players just drop off until there is only about 3 then they will just be out of control, cars warping all over track then 2 more will go by half way round first lap, so out of upto 16 players there is only 2! But whenever they host its fine! why?

Anyway just got 50meg, Watched Installer do test 43mb down, 1.3 up and 20ping. Just been on GT5p and its still doing it! AARRGGGGHHH! Checked speedtest 39 down 1.6up 21ping was average from 5 different site tests!

I have p.c (wired) laptop (wireless) and ps3 (wired) connected to netgear WNR2000 'N' router, NAT type2

What is my problem and how do I fix?

Please explain in simple steps!
