Getting PS3 online with Sky - can't do it

I've been trying to get a wireless network connection on my PS3 but it's not happening. When I start the whole process it finds my Sky broadband and tells me I have signal strength of 85-90%, then when I get to the end the connection test gets timed out and it tells me it has failed to obtain the IP address, but I can't see why. Could it be anything to do with the rubbish router you get. It's upstairs and my PS3's downstairs. Very annoying. Surely it should be easy even allowing for my stupidity.

I've just changed over to Sky & will be changing my settings tonight, i saved this note in case i had any problems....

lots of people on sky broadband getting this problem, easy way to solve it, change your dns

just go into ps3 -> network settings -> edit them -> click custom not auto -> keep going until u get to the bit wer it says primary dns and secondary dns and change dem too

Primary dns 208.67.222.222 and secondary dns 208.67.220.220.
