Buzz: Quiz World: Play & Help Thread

Anyone up for some online quizery, if so send me a friends request and mention Buzz: Qiuz World in the title.

There are some trophies requiring games with friends, so this could be mutually beneficial and fun.

re: Buzz: Quiz World: Play & Help Thread

How does the 'Buzz saying your name' thing work? Is it text to speech or a wide selection of preset names? If it's the latter, is there a list on the interweb anywhere?

I've gotta get this one for Xmas!

It's a wide selection of preset names, not a text synthesiser.

What I really want to know - can you play online with this against people who are playing the original Buzz Quiz TV? Because I already have that, if I buy Quiz World I could give Quiz TV to relatives and play them online...

I gather they've improved the sofa v sofa bit in this new one, that makes me wonder if they're compatible.

Anyone know?

I'm afraid not, both you and your relatives will have to have the same game if you wish to compete against one another

Can anyone confirm how the Sofa vs Sofa works on this game?

I have the original Buzz & only 1 person can play per PS3 console.

With Buzz Quiz World can more than 1 person play per console?

i.e. Could the missus & myself play separately (each with our own buzzer) within the same online game as other people?

you can have 4 people with 4 buzzers playing separately this time - a big improvement over previous versions

Superb! I presume that you can play with 2 or 3 people instead of 4?

Quick question.. Does Quiz World support 8 players? One of the early Buzz (PS2) games suggested that it was 8 player, but it wasn't...

Does the new Buzz have a true "8 player" option? I have bought it for Christmas, but I if it supported 4-8 players I will try and get another set of Wired controllers.

Quiz World supports 8 players (2 sets of controllers)! (There are actually 8 podiums visible in-game). I'm looking forward to using this at Christmas!

Cheers.. I did a bit of searching and it was implied that 8 players was possible, so i took a punt.. A 2nd set of Wired controllers was only £5 and I figured it was worth it.

Thanks for confirming this.. I now have to find some friends I guess to play more than 4 players

I annoys me I got the special edition version of Buzz Quiz TV so the bonus packs from that are on disc and therefore can't be used with Quiz World without repurchasing

If anyone wants to play online some time add me, would be cool to get an 8 player AVF quiz off! Anyone got many trophies yet? I haven't been trying much but they seems abit harder and more varied than the previous PS3 buzz titles.

Serious? I thought it takes the bonus packs off the Quiz TV game data stored on the HDD? If not, that seriously sucks!

Is there an option to install the packs onto the HDD from the quiz TV disc? If not then no it doesn't, I went into the 'add on packs' section of Quiz World and it didn't list the video games or national geographic packs annoying as I used to beat everyone on those 2 packs!

Can you change the charactor you play with on-line? I have only played 'offline' once and chose the granny.. But she is now my online character and I want to change her.

Do you have to have multiple profiles for different characters?

Jon

Edit: Ignore that.. I did't spot the "make changes option after you select your profile

I got this over the weekend and played a quick game last night - it's my first buzz and I'm over the moon with how much fun it is.

I will add you and everyone else in this thread tonight (and will mention Buzz/AVF in the message) although perhaps I should retire from online quizzes with 100% record after my Played 1 Won 1 last night......

I just sent out a bunch of PSN requests - Daddyduche you were already on my list, I know that because you're sitting high on top of my friend's trophies list!.......

I know the coming few days/weeks are out of the question but would people be interested in an AVF Buzz night one evening in the New Year? As somebody mentioned above it would be good to get 8 AVFers involved.

Let me know what you think and if people are keen I will put the wheels in motion.

Cheers!

I've not had much chance to play this over the past few weeks since its release, but I'll be playing it over the yuletide period if anybody fancies a game.

I've also made quite a few MyBuzz quizzes if anybody fancies giving them a whirl
