Official sony cam/mic and singstar question.

Hello all,

When playing singstar recently I noticed that the mic on the PS3 camera was active. ie, I was adjusting the aim on the TV stand and when I spoke my voice came through the speakers on the TV.

Surely this can't be correct can it?

I would have thought the game would switch off the mic on the camera when the singstar microphones are plugged in.

I had a look through the settings in the camera menu on the XMB but couldn't find anything to switch it off manually.

Surely, the mic will be picking up noise from the speakers and from the people singing, although it doesn't sound too bad, maybe just a bit echoey at times.

Has anyone else noticed this or is it just a problem with my setup?

Cheers

Mark

Good point. I'll check my setup later this evening to see if it is doing the same thing.

Yes mine also operates. Not only that, but if somebody get too close to the TV (where the camera is) it causes feedback. With the camera disconnected this doesn't occur.
