Hello.
I Was considering getting the PS3eye. I've seen a few Singstar videos on Youtube etc. and they have the bars and lyrics embedded onto video. Have they used PS3 eye camera for this effect? If so how long a clip does the PSeye take? Can you stop and start it taking video during a song on singstar or is it predetermined somehow?

I know I could just use my own cam but the PSeye looks far easier and if it shows the bars and lyrics on playback it really seems to add to it.

The (often hilarious) singstar videos that are accessable via the game don't have the bars/lyrics on them (at least the ones I saw didn't). These clips are recorded with the eye camera.

I've not used my eye camera with the game yet, but I would guess that you can have have the eye camera feed as the background when playing the game and people are recording the screen with a different camera to upload to youtube.

Ahh but I need someone that has done exactly that, to see whether or not it does link up with the bars/lyrics and embed them to videos.

No, it doesn't do that. You get recorded for about 30 seconds at a predetermined point in the song and the video will just whatever is in front of the camera at the time, with no pitch bars, (c)rap meter or lyrics on-screen.

Vids on YouTube such as those by this guy...

YouTube - The Corrs - Runaway (SingStore)

... are created by capturing the image directly from the PS3 using A/V capture equipment. He would have set the game up just to show his image via the PSEye whilst the song is playing.

Nice one ...now thats what I call definitive!

Just trying to sort out my Xmas day. Got PS3 for the kids and ABBA singstar for the wife I have even bought a couple of cheap fun wigs to go with the ABBA disc!
Just want to make sure I get it all on camera when the Christmas Cheer kicks in and everyone starts having a sing-a-long-a-Abba fest!!!
