First of all, thanks for the reply.
After having thought about this for a while, I found the above, whilst sounding like a perfectly reasonable answer, but not quite right and I didn't know why.
I figured out why it didn't quite sit right(nothing to do with your answer, just something that didn't fit ) , and that's because Sony have made the PS2 titles of Singstar compatible with the PS3 (as long as you have a version of Singstar for the PS3) , so surely if there was any issue of rights , then that would have been addressed before making the PS2 versions of Singstar compatible for the PS3 ?
Which ( I think) is why I posted the question in the first place.
